Golden light tore through the darkest night, raindrops sizzling from the extreme heat as the golden flame seemingly distorted the space around it. The golden streak flew high, reaching the height of Silao Grande's head.
IGNITE!
The melodious voice of Goddess Yu Yan echoed across the battlefield, calling upon the power of the Law of Fire itself.
WOOSH!
A golden flame burst forth, making the air around it distort from the intense heat as it descended toward the Silao Grande.
ROARS!
What ensued were the miserable cries of the gigantic beast, reverberating across the land as part of its body was engulfed in hellish heat.
In pain, Silao Grande turned its head toward the fiery woman, murderous intent flashing through its eyes.
It opened its maw. A large amount of spiritual energy was sucked toward it before being compressed and condensed, massive energy swirling at incredible speed as its very core heated up and glowed white, creating an ominous, deafening howl.
The swirling mass of energy took the shape of a perfect white sphere. Its radiance brought intense heat, distorting the surrounding space as the Silao Grande aimed it in Yu Yan's direction.
PIERCE!
BOOM!
RAAARGH!
But before it could unleash the attack, the space near the condensed energy rippled. Xue Hui suddenly appeared, armed with his white halberd. He thrust his weapon forward, using the Origin of Piercing to shatter the structure of the condensed energy, causing it to explode right inside Silao Grande's mouth.
The gigantic beast let out a painful roar as it stumbled and trampled across the ground. It writhed in agony as it furiously searched for the person who had interrupted its attack.
While it was searching, the space beside Goddess Yu Yan rippled as Xue Hui emerged from it. Looking battered, he immediately caught Yu Yan's attention, and concern washed over her face as she quickly checked his condition.
His clothes were tattered, and burn marks could be seen across his body. Although the attack had injured the enormous beast, the move had been far too risky to pull off, resulting in Xue Hui being caught in the explosion. Luckily for him, he could use the Origin of Space to teleport at will, allowing him to escape at the last second, but not without coming away from the blast completely unscathed.
"Xue Hui, this won't work. This beast has far tougher defenses and greater vitality than either of us can overcome. We need more people, or something big and sharp enough to pierce through its hide," Yu Yan voiced her concern. They had been fighting the beast for quite some time now, but aside from hitting it here and there, the creature itself looked relatively unscathed compared to the two of them, whose spiritual energy was slowly being depleted as the fight continued.
"Something big and sharp?" Xue Hui repeated under his breath, a thoughtful look washing over him before his eyes flashed with inspiration.
"Big Sis Yu Yan, I have something in mind, but you'll have to deal with this thing all by yourself for a while as I get the tool we need to kill this beast. Is that alright?" he said confidently, a knowing grin stretching across his lips.
"I can probably hold this beast off for some time. Do whatever you must. Fighting like this would only tire both of us." Yu Yan said with determination, her gaze firm as the golden brilliance around her shone brighter.
"Mhm! I'll do just that, but before I go, let me do this first." Xue Hui closed his eyes as a pink Origin Sphere flew in front of him.
Yu Yan stared at it, noting that it was one of his Origin Powers, but one she had never seen him use before. The unfamiliar power made her both curious and eager to see what it could do.
RESTRICT!
The pink sphere shone brighter before shooting into the sky at lightning-fast speed. It entered the clouds above Silao Grande, before something high in the sky began to hum loudly, like a trumpet that shook the world. The dark clouds split apart, lightning snaking through them as the object at the very center of the opening revealed itself.
Yu Yan's eyes grew wide as her cherry-red lips opened and closed repeatedly, a look of fear and astonishment dawning on her delicate face as she sensed a familiar power wash over her.
"Law of Guillotine!" she cried out, her face filled with shock and terror.
That's right! The same tool that people had used for centuries to pass judgment upon others, a tool that took countless lives was also the symbol of a Law that had once instilled fear in the hearts of many Spiritual Gods in the past. It was the only Law that had earned another moniker due to its deadly reputation.
And it was better known back then as...
The God Slayer.
The gigantic guillotine, made of dark, polished wood, hovered above the Silao Grande, its silver-colored chains connected to wooden beams glistening as they dangled in the air. They were long and as thick as centuries-old trees, giving the impression that they possessed enough strength to snare and pull even a mountain. From the center of this imposing structure hung its massive blade. Its edges glistened in the darkness of the night, giving the impression that its sharp edge could even cut through the soul.
JUDGEMENT!
CHACHING!
ROAR!
At Xue Hui's command, the gigantic guillotine disassembled.
Each massive component hovered in the air for a brief moment before plummeting downward at terrifying speed. Chains erupted from the floating pieces, shooting toward Silao Grande and wrapping tightly around its colossal body.
The giant beast roared and struggled, its immense strength shaking the chains, but it was already too late. More chains coiled around its limbs, torso, and neck, steadily restricting its movements until the enormous creature was completely bound.
THUD!
The ground shook violently as the scattered sections of the guillotine crashed down around Silao Grande. Dust and debris erupted into the air as each piece locked into place, rapidly assembling itself once more.
Once the dust settled, Silao Grande was completely trapped within the gigantic execution frame.
With an ominous howl, the guillotine released its blade. An eerie whistle tore through the air as the enormous blade descended, dropping straight toward Silao Grande's neck.
Whoosh!
Ding!
The blade struck with tremendous force, causing a powerful wind to erupt, but instead of cleaving through the giant beast, it sank only a short distance into its thick hide before coming to an abrupt stop.
"Tsk. Just as I expected. It wouldn't be that simple."
Xue Hui clicked his tongue, his eyes narrowing as he watched the blade remain lodged in Silao Grande's seemingly impenetrable flesh.
"That's because your understanding of the Law of Guillotine is still shallow. Back in the day, ErMa, the Demon Beast who wielded this power, could slice through anything with the power of the Guillotine."
Yu Yan explained, letting out a shaky breath. For a moment, she had thought that ErMa had risen from the dead and shown herself once again.
"It doesn't matter. The Origin of Guillotine should be able to hold that beast for a short while. I'll go and get the thing we need. Please be careful, Big Sis Yu Yan," Xue Hui said firmly before his entire body flickered and disappeared.
As he left, Yu Yan's expression turned serious. She summoned her golden flame before diving toward the Silao Grande, taking advantage of the fact that it was restrained
ROAR!
Glory City, City Wall.
"City Lord, we used up all the explosive bolts. We estimate that we stopped at least two waves of the attack," Ye Xiu reported as he leapt to Ye Zong and Chen Zhenlong's side.
Ye Zong nodded, a resolute look crossing his face. "Then it's time to use the Myriad Soul Puppet Army."
As he said those words, Ye Zong threw the egg-shaped treasure into the air before his hands formed a series of hand seals.
People watched with bated breath as the Myriad Soul Puppet Army drew a beautiful arc through the air before seemingly pausing mid-flight. A brilliant golden light burst forth from it, followed by countless streaks of light shooting toward the ground below the city wall.
Thud!
Thud!

Gasps of shock echoed along the city wall. Everyone was taken aback by the scene in front of them.
"Those are soul puppet armies, and there are so many of them!" Nie Li exclaimed in surprise. Never had he imagined that the City Lord possessed such a powerful treasure all along.
"Tens of thousands of Gold rank and below soul puppets, two thousand Black Gold rank soul puppets, and two hundred Legend rank soul puppets. This much firepower is enough to trample an empire,"
Nie Li stated, making the people around him suck in a cold breath. The sheer firepower before them left them unable to utter a word. But one thing was for sure, they were all relieved that this powerful weapon was on their side.
"Hello, test, test. Can everyone hear me? Please raise your hand if you can hear me!"
The people were snapped from their daze as one of the soul puppets suddenly leapt onto the city wall. It wore a gaudy outfit, complete with a hat and some kind of tool that made its voice louder. It waved its arms, attracting the attention of the gathered crowd.
Even Nie Li was left completely dumbfounded. He could tell that the soul puppet before them didn't have a soul within it like the rest standing on the battlefield, yet it looked full of life, as if it had one.
"Please confirm if everyone can hear me. It'd be annoying to start the show if the equipment is faulty. Please raise a hand if you can hear me. Come on, don't be shy. Just, there you go! Yes, please raise those hands. That's everyone? Yes! Great. Now that I've got everyone's attention, we may now begin the show," Yi Ren declared.
At the same time, a chorus of furious roars reached everyone's ears as another wave of demon beasts came into view.
Watching the approaching horde, Yi Ren's eyes lit up, a wide grin spreading across his face. It had been a while since he had hosted a show, and the sight of the watching crowds ignited familiar excitement within him.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are the Myriad Soul Puppet Army, and we're here to showcase our greatness! Hold your breath and brace yourselves, for we're going to be tonight's entertainment!"
"Hit it, boys!"
