Chapter 3 - The Head of House Ivers.

As the loud footsteps continued to play in the background, the creepy man looked towards his boss and whispered to him,

"Hey boss, what are we going to do if it really is him? We would have no shot against him!"

"I'm requesting for an immediate teleportation, so don't worry. The least we'll have to do is fight him for a few seconds," replied the boss in a whisper.

Upon hearing this, the creepy man gained some hope at survival, but only for a minute, before the loud footsteps stopped abruptly. The two men heard the door in front of them creak open slowly as Reid's uncle opened the door.

"Always so dramatic," Reid commented.

As the door fully opened, light rushed into the cabin, causing strain to the kidnappers' eyes. A figure then slowly walked into the cabin with a slight smile.

The man, looked to be in his 50s, had slicked-back black hair with grey streaks running across it, had a pair of enchanting hazel eyes, and pale white skin under a scruffy beard, mimicking the colours of his hair.

As the man spoke, the world seemed to shift. "I have come here to collect my nephew."

Upon hearing that, the creepy man grabbed the bosses arm and shouted, "It's him! It really is him! We're screwed! Screwed I say."

Royce, Reid's uncle, then let out a small chuckle and continued to say, "Hey, you guys are Stage 3 Exceeded, right? Surely you can put up a fight for a few seconds."

With incredible speed, the boss rushed towards Royce, screaming, "I'll show you a few seconds."

He was no threat to Royce, however, but Royce was in a good mood in that moment, and so he lowered his stats to that of the average Stage 3 Exceeded.

Upon seeing the chance, the creepy one also lunged foward. With both kidnappers lunging towards Royce with incredible speed, he doged with so much finesse that he actually landed behind the creepy man and gave him a palm strike to his back. The creepy man was sent flying, but it wasn't fatal because of Royce's reduced stats.

The boss swiftly turned to face Royce with a hatred-filled gaze.

Royce brought his hand up and beckoned him to attack. Upon seeing the blatant provocation, the boss fell for it and ran toward the man. The boss threw a punch that Royce caught, and Royce twisted his hand in a spiral motion.

The boss hadn't given up. He threw his leg to the left and struck Royce's side. Royce, despite not being one, took it like he was a tank, like it never happened. Royce let go of the bosses hand and took a few steps back. The boss once again ran towards Royce, but this time the creepy one was also a part of the attack. The creepy one, after being knocked out momentarily, regained his consciousness and instantly went for Royce's legs to disrupt his balance. Royce twisted his entire body, kicking the creepy one and grabbing the boss by the throat.

The two men then seemed to disintegrate into thin air, leaving nothing in their places.

Royce mumbled under his breath, "They must have used that teloportation they were talking about earlier."

Royce felt like he was forgetting something before Reid grunted to get his attention.

"Ah yes, I knew I forgot something," Royce said while walking over to the armchair Reid was tied to.

Before breaking the chains, Royce returned to his original stats and broke the chain in one swift motion.

While massaging his left wrist with his right hand, Reid asked, "Did you really need the strength of a Stage 5 Shattered to break those chains?."

Royce then chuckled and replied, "No, not at all. It just feels more natural."

Upon hearing that statement, Reid scoffed and started to look for something among the packed things. Royce asked what he was doing.

"They took my mam's ring, so I'm looking for it."

After hearing that, Royce looked thoughtful for a few moments and then began to silently look for the ring as well.

Instead of finding the ring, Reid first found the illusion field, and decided to disable it so he could get a glimpse of where he really was.

He was at a random train station that seemed to have been abandoned around the time of The Decent.

After that little side quest, Reid went back to silently searching.

He looked for a few minutes and finally found a small box that was the size of his hand. He opened it to see a beautiful, golden ring with blue streaks running across the surface.

After finding the ring, both Reid and Royce just sat down for a while and talked about random subjects that were completely unrelated to anything important.

Before the both of them knew it, an hour had passed by.

They both got up from there seat and walked outside. First, a man who looked to be in his 50s, who had slick-back black hair with grey streaks running through it, a pair of enchanting hazel eyes, pale-white skin and a scruffy beard mimicking the colours of his hair, walked out of the old, run-down cabin.

A few moments later, a second figure emerged from the cabin. This figure had short, stylish, raven-black hair, a pair of enchanting neon-yellow eyes and pale-white skin. It was Reid.

As Reid looked around the place outside of where he was captured, he saw a long, black car resembling a Limousine, except this one was heavily armed from boot to bonnet. There was also a tall, black man with black hair and hazel eyes standing next to the long car.

As Royce hailed the man foward, he said, "We got him back, Thatan."

Thaten bowed and greeted Reid. "Glad to see you safe, Master Reid."

They soon entered the car with Reid and Royce in the back and Thaten driving. Reid knew that they were headed for the Ivers' estate, so he looked out the window and asked Royce, "Where is Urias? I would have thought that he would have come, considering the fact that he says that he's my bodyguard and all, even though he has no physical ability at the moment for it."

Royce turned to Reid (who was still looking out the window in silence), and replied, "Well... Urias personally asked me to come and pick you up, because he realised that he wouldn't be much of a threat towards two stage 3 Exceeded ".

Reid smiled slightly while saying, "That's impressive. I half expected that he would come running in with some S rank weapon you gave him."

Royce chuckled.

"Do you take me for a fool? I would never give a S rank weapon to a Limited..."

He then became serious and continued, "...not even you."

Reid heard the change in his voice and finally turned his head towards Royce and said, "Just you wait. Once I'm an Unlocker, you can give me all the S rank weapons you have."

Royce then smiled again and replied, "Not happening. You ain't even getting any D rank weapon. You gotta find them yourself."

When Reid heard that, he turned around in a huff and faced the window again.

They soon came to a stop and got out of the long car. Reid looked up to see that it was the Ivers familys' private jet. The three entered the jet and Royce told Thaten that he could relax the entire flight. Without a second thought, Thaten obliged, jumping onto one of the well-furnished sofas.

Soon, the plane lifted off the ground and into the air,. The flight was quiet and calm. No interruptions, because who is going to try and highjack or blow up a plane with the head of Ivers in it?

They soon touched down and the three left the plane to enter another long, black limousine. They mimicked where they sat in the other car with this one as well.

When the car reached the Ivers' estate, they were bombarded with questions from reporters, asking what had happened during the kidnapping and rescue. Reid really didn't like reporters and barged through them. The other two followed soon after.

When Reid entered the Ivers' estate, something the size of a human lauched at him, sending him flying backwards.
