Harley made his way towards the middle of the camp where there was a set table where the princess sat. People had gathered all around to listen, and then upon seeing Harley, they cleared a pathway for him to walk to the table himself.
There, he saw the main figures looking at the table: Princess Marcella, the tall female warrior he saw in the training circle, Vernox, Rachel, and some other men.
As he got there, all of them turned their gazes to him. He frowned, sensing malicious intent from a lot of them.
"You're finally here, Harlequin." The princess addressed him before sitting down herself.
As if sensing his confusion, Princess Marcella spoke up to alleviate some of his lingering worries.
"My dearest friend here, whom I trust with all my life, said to trust you to make a siege plan." The princess held the seer's shoulder.
"Ah..." Harley looked at Rachel, who only had a smile on her face.
Already on the stage, the princess explained everything there was to explain about the dangerous points in the kingdom. He glanced at the map, looking at all the points circled in red.
It didn't take him much time to come up with a plan. Being a history student in his past life, he loved hearing about the ancient wars that formed the strongest empires. It was fascinating to read and now, too, he had already come up with a plan quickly.
'The eastern wall and the western wall have two archery towers, and there are gates leading out of the kingdom. One is... towards the port where ships arrived and another towards the forest that I and Vernox plundered...' He concluded a solid plan in his head, oblivious to the loud silence that surrounded him as everyone anticipated his words.
"Alright, here is the plan. Currently, how many people can we get to fight?" He asked the princess.
She was taken aback.
Just now the young man in front of her seemed confused and taken by surprise, but it hadn't even been five minutes and he already cooked up a plan to take back the kingdom.
"Currently we have 812 soldiers." She replied, leaning forward.
Harley explained the plan. The two archer towers on the western and eastern walls were their first targets. Harley had seen the tools they use to see from afar and he knew that if they approached from outside the kingdom they would be cooked.
A small special unit consisting of 15 people would hit both towers at the same time. Harley knew the might of ranged weapons; the moment you can't see them you're gone.
Following that, from the gate to the middle of the kingdom, also in line with the eastern and western towers, was a huge knight settlement with over three hundred knights ready to fight.
And they would open the gates to let the rest of the army in while taking care of their supply posts.
Now, as for the central knights camp, they'll hit them when they least expect, taking them all out. So that all that would remain would be the main castle which also had the main camp of the knights in an arc in front of it.
With the archers gone, both the eastern gates and the western gates can let the warriors in and they would ambush the small camp in the middle.
This was the fastest way to secure most of the regions and arm their own soldiers with proper tools, arrows and more.
"If we are able to salvage bows from the towers then it would be easier to lay siege to the main camp at the castle. I won't say that this plan is for sure; the worst case is that the main camp will be alerted while dealing with the mid camp. Then the knights would come from the castle." Harley drew out three main roads from the main knights camp.
Directly in front of their camp was a huge road for travellers and more, and then there were three main open routes that would later have branches to form the kingdom's roads.
"These three main points would be their optimal road. 500 of us would ambush their camp, while a hundred each would take the bows and try to stop them from spreading out too much. Then reinforcements would arrive soon." Harley finished, pushing the map towards the princess who was quietly nodding in approval.
Rachel only had a proud smile on her face and Harley didn't hold it against her for putting him on the spot. But for him to have more knowledge on strategy than some of the knights here is crazy.
If they knew that he was just a reporter and circus performer they surely wouldn't be able to believe it.
"Now I see why both of my subordinates vouched for you. And you also accounted for mistakes." She nodded her head.
The people around him couldn't help but murmur as they approved of his plan too. He couldn't help but think that they have low intelligence...
Well, he knew stuff.
"Wait, who else vouched for me?" Harley's eyes snapped back to the princess and she raised her head, frowning.
"I think you would be surprised. After all, he said that the both of you are acquainted already." The princess smiled, and the members cleared a way as someone tall made his way to the middle of the table.
Harley's expression fell when he saw a person who he personally killed back on the ship.
Live in the flesh, Eman stood there with a smile on his face, looking at Harley with a gentle expression of a lost brother.
"Harley, it's nice to see you again. You arrived after me, so I was sent on a mission immediately I arrived and was healed. It's great to see you again." Eman smiled, his handsome face betraying whatever true emotion was in the man's heart.
"Oh, and don't worry about what happened on the ship. I understand that you had to go ahead." The knight tapped his shoulder and walked away.
Harley frowned, watching him leave the table. There was something extremely wrong with the man.
'Did he really forgive me?' Harley thought, and just then, he felt a shiver in his spine as a suspicion crawled into his head.
