I steadied myself and met her gaze.
"I think I've made myself clear," Yasmin said, leaning back with confidence. "Your only option is to back off. You can't win against me."
I took a slow sip of my espresso, letting her words settle.
If I didn't say something soon, she would keep going all day. And unlike her, I actually had work waiting for me.
I placed the cup down gently. "You sound very sure of yourself," I said calmly. "But I don't see Mr. Norton being that close to you. Why don't you explain your relationship with him?"
Her expression lit up instantly, like she had been waiting for that.
"I'll never forget the way he looked at me the first time," she said without hesitation. "There was so much passion in his eyes. If we weren't in public, he might have lost control right there. That's what love at first sight looks like."
I listened quietly.
I remembered that moment too.
But what she described… wasn't what I saw.
