Sophia did not sleep.
Not even for a minute.
She lay in bed staring at the ceiling until the darkness outside slowly turned gray. Every time she closed her eyes, she saw the name on the file. Dr. Helena Mercer. Her former mentor.
The woman who had changed her life.
The woman who had encouraged her to leave.
The woman she had believed was gone.
Dead. Or at least that was what Sophia had forced herself to believe.
But Helena was alive.
And somehow, she was connected to Project Laurent. Sophia sat up sharply.
Her heart was already pounding.
There was only one thing she knew for certain.
She was going to find Helena.
Not because she trusted her.
Because she needed answers.
She needed to know why Helena had disappeared.
Why she had left Sophia alone.
Why her father's name kept appearing in places it should never have been.
And most importantly—
Why had everyone lied to her?
By sunrise, Sophia was already dressed.
She found Sebastian in the situation room.
