The gunshot echoed through the building.
Sophia dropped instinctively.
Sebastian grabbed Vivian and pulled her behind the nearest concrete wall. Daniel shouted,
"Down!" Another shot tore through the doorway.
Glass shattered.Someone outside screamed.
Then silence.Sophia could barely breathe.
"Helena?"No answer.
She reached through the darkness.
Her hand found Helena's arm.
"Helena!" "I'm here."
Sophia released a breath.
"Are you hurt?"
"No."
Sebastian looked toward Daniel.
"How many?"
"At least six. They're inside."
Another gunshot came from the hallway.
Daniel raised his weapon.
"Stay here."
Sebastian shook his head.
"I'm coming."
Vivian grabbed his arm.
"Be careful."He looked at her.
"I will."Then he and Daniel disappeared into the darkness.
Sophia remained beside Helena.
The older woman was breathing heavily.
"Where is the record?" Helena pointed toward the floor."Under us."
"How do we get there?" "The laboratory."
Sophia frowned."There's no entrance."
