David stood still as she walked up to him.
"Andriana what are you doing here , aren't you supposed to be in the hospital?" he asked.
Andriana looked back at Karlye's office "I heard he almost collapsed ...is he okay ?" she asked.
"Huh...oh ...wait ...what ?" he frowned.
She blinked.
"Karlye ...is he okay ?" she asked again.
He nodded, "he's fine, he's in the middle of a meeting right now ". " He led her towards his office.
"Oh...but can he work in his condition?" she asked stopping.
David sighed.
"I think you have some wrong information, Andriana . The incident you're asking about was two days ago, Karlye is all better right now ..and he didn't collapse".
She fell silent then looked back at him.
"So ....no one saw the need to tell me about it . I had to find out about it two days later and through some rumours ".
The anger in her voice alarmed him.
"If you want to see him you can ...but right now his in a meeting " he said.
"I am sorry but I don't think I can wait that long " she glared back at him.
David turned and led her to his office, knocking then opening the door for her.
"Andriana ?!" Karlye frowned the moment he saw her face, he stood up.
David shrugged when Karlye glanced back at him.
"You two leave for now " Karlye said to the two men he had been having a meeting with.
The moment the door closed she turned to Karlye. It was the first time she was seeing him with glasses on, but underneath them the dark bags under his eyes were visible, and she could see that his complexion looked different.
Silence filled the room.
"Andriana, the doctor had told us to watch what we told you, and since Karlye's situation wasn't that serious we decided to ...." David tried to explain
"Can I ask you something David ?"she let out.
He nodded.
"For the years you have known Karlye , how many times have you seen him like that. Has Karlye ever collapsed ...or as everyone seems to claim, almost collapsed " she stared back at him.
He gulped not answering.
"David ?". She called glaring back at him.
"Yes ..."
"Answer my question " she said.
"I am sorry we didn't tell you, we just thought it was better you didn't know, since you two aren't talking and ....".
"If you don't answer me ...I will tell Mira you made me cry " she stated.
David gasped stealing a glance at Karlye then spoke "Never...even with a cold or an injury, Karlye has never collapsed ".
"So seeing him in that state didn't scare you ?" she asked.
"It did ...but Andriana, he didn't want to tell you. He begged me not to " he explained.
She turned to Karlye.
"David....I admit I was scared ...terrified after I saw those horrible photos . My body instantly froze and fear filled my whole body , I knew he was dangerous but not to that level".
David sighed
Karlye's gaze didn't break away from hers.
"But when I opened my eyes again and found myself lying in a hospital bed, all I wanted to see was him ".she held back her tears looking back at David...."I wanted to see him so bad I didn't care about anything else ".
"He was scared ...he thought you would react negatively after what you had discovered " David let out.
"I wanted him to be by my side but he never came...while the flowers kept filling up in my room. And then I heard he ...almost collapsed and it might have been my fault "Her tears fell glaring back at Karlye.
She burst into tears, and he moved clasping her in his big arms. Her whole slender body was disappearing in his embrace.
"I am sorry baby...please don't cry " he muttered.
"You're all mean how you could hide that from me. I hate you all," she cried,hitting his chest.
He nodded still holding her, "Please don't cry . You're not well ".
Her blushed tear-stained face popped out of his chest glaring back at him.
"Neither are you dummy. How could you not tell me ?" she cried.
He bent down kissing her forehead, "Come on now my love, your eyes will swell if you don't stop crying ".
Andriana pulled away wiping her tears she looked back at him.
"My makeup can't get messed up, Mira spent hours on it " she cried.
They both glanced back at David who chuckled at her statement.
"Oh...guess it's time for me to leave " he laughed rushing to the door.
The moment the door closed Karlye trapped Andriana in his arms. He took a deep breath burying his face in her neck .
"I missed you " he breathed, his trembling body expressing how he desperately missed her.
"You should have come to me then ..." She cried.
She felt his hold tighten, "the look in your eyes from that day ... haunted me for days . I thought you hated me .....and it was my fault that I put you both in danger ".his hand slid to her tummy.
She pulled back to see tears fall down his face.
"Oh honey, I am sorry I made you feel that way " she pulled him down to her, and gently kissed the corners of his eyes.
"I have never felt that scared in my life ....the thought of you leaving me nearly drove me crazy . I wanted to see you so bad but then the fear of seeing you turn away from me kept me back ". he cried.
Her tears fell as she watched him cry.
"So I thought if I stayed back and didn't appear in front of you then I wouldn't lose you ....it's pathetic and stupid but ....I...".
She grabbed his tie pulled him back to her, her lips touched his softly kissing him, he blinked and she smiled.
She held his face gazing up at him.
"Karlye Lockhart ....I love you more than I have ever found a way to say....and you loving me has been the luckiest thing that has ever happened to me ". She pecked his lips, "So please no matter what happens don't ever doubt the way I feel for you, my sweet infinity ".
Karlye's tears fell as he pulled her in for a tighter hug. She smiled filling his neck with kisses.
"I know I'm not the best ....but I love you more than my own life. Thank you for choosing me " he muttered staring down at her eyes.
"Can you please kiss me now " she laughed through her tears.
Karlye swiftly took off his glasses and grabbed her waist carrying her off her feet.
She held his neck, wrapping her legs around his waist.
He looked up with a smile and she bent down to reach his lips again.
