The formal search warrant was issued from Isadora three days after Charles returned from Amara. It went out under the seal of the Asterion royal family — a missing persons notice for Dr. Benjamin Nystrom, last seen in northern Arcadia. There was no mention of Wren Baek or Zephyr. The notice cited concern for a citizen of Isadora who had been working under a royal assignment.
There were no recent photographs of Benjamin. The only image they had was six years old. It was a formal portrait submitted with his medical license. Charles approved it for the warrant without letting himself think too long about the fact that in all the time they had spent together, he had never once thought to take a picture with him. He closed the file before the thought could settle.
