Alexander watched Cho laugh, and for some reason today, he was mesmerized by her.
Cho saw Alexander just watching her with a dumb smile on his face.
She laughed and said.
"Are you just going to look at me with that dumb smile all night, or is this the end of our Valentine's Day?"
Alexander snapped out of it and helped her carefully pack everything away.
All the boxes, cards, chocolates, and all her gifts were packed away into a magical pouch and put on the side.
Alexander lifted his wand.
With a flick of his wand, everything on the floor gently slid away from them.
Tables and chairs were all cleared away.
Leaving the center of the Astronomy Tower empty.
Alexander brought Cho to the center of the room.
He flicked his wand again, and around them, a galaxy illusion started to form.
It looked like they were standing in the middle of space itself.
Stars floated quietly around them.
The music slowly changed.
Instead of romantic background melodies, it became a slow waltz.
Alexander put away his wand, he reached out his hand and gave a small gentleman's bow.
"Shall we dance?"
She smiled softly and placed her hand in his.
They began their slow waltz across the galaxy.
At first, Cho was focused entirely on the dance steps her grandparents had taught her.
But slowly she began to notice the details around them.
With every step they took—
Soft, glowing lights appeared beneath their feet.
The stars above slowly rotated like a moving sky.
And when Alexander spun her gently—
A small constellation trail followed her movement through the air.
Cho laughed quietly.
The entire scene felt magical.
As they danced, time passed without either of them noticing.
Distant fireworks exploded outside the tower.
Colorful flashes lit the sky beyond the windows.
But instead of stopping to watch them like everyone else in Hogwarts, the two of them continued dancing.
The waltz slowly transitioned into a slow dance.
Cho leaned forward and rested her head against Alexander's shoulder.
She whispered.
"How did you have time to plan all this?"
Alexander smiled.
"I'll always make time for you."
Cho laughed softly.
"No normal boyfriend does this."
Alexander grinned proudly.
"I'm not a normal boyfriend."
He added dramatically,
"I'm a star student."
"Rich and handsome."
Cho laughed softly as they continued to dance.
Outside, the fireworks continued lighting the night sky.
But inside the tower, Alexander and Cho didn't watch the fireworks this year.
Instead, they simply danced the night away.
After a while, the fireworks ended.
The music faded.
The galaxy illusion dimmed slightly.
For a moment, neither of them moved.
They simply looked into each other's eyes.
Cho's cheeks turned slightly pink.
"You treat me too well."
Alexander replied softly,
"You support me too well."
Cho chuckled.
"You really are impossible to compete with."
Alexander smiled.
"Good thing we're not competing."
Then they kissed.
After a moment, Alexander gently waved his wand again.
The galaxy illusion faded, and the chairs and tables went back to their normal spot.
The inside of the Astronomy Tower returned to normal.
Alexander and Cho slowly left the Astronomy Tower.
This time, they didn't use the Invisibility Cloak.
Instead, they walked openly through the Hogwarts courtyard.
Couples filled the snowy grounds.
Students laughed.
Others walked quietly together under the moonlight.
Alexander glanced at Cho.
"Are you cold?"
Cho shook her head.
"The hairpin keeps me warm."
Alexander smiled and kissed the back of her hand.
They continued walking through the courtyard hand in hand.
Somehow, they found themselves back in the Ravenclaw common in front of the fireplace.
Alexander transfigured the chair and made it more comfortable.
The two of them sat down together.
Alexander waved his wand again.
A subtle barrier formed around them.
To everyone else nearby, it looked like two students sitting quietly.
But the barrier blocked sound and sight enough that no one bothered them.
Students naturally avoided getting near them, giving them space.
Inside their small, quiet bubble, Alexander and Cho talked softly.
About school.
About the future.
About random little things.
Soon Cho's voice became quieter and softer.
Until finally—
She fell asleep.
Her head rested against Alexander while he held her gently.
He looked down and noticed something.
She was smiling in her sleep.
Alexander glanced around to check his spells.
The barrier was still stable.
The warmth enchantments were working perfectly.
Satisfied, he gently moved Cho to make her more comfortable.
Holding Cho, he watched her sleeping peacefully.
Eventually, Alexander's eyes grew heavy.
And before long—
He drifted off to sleep as well.
