Chapter 366 - Chapter 354: Dark Dawn

In New York, a middle-aged man wearing a jacket was also wandering the streets.

When a police car passed by, he hurriedly ducked into an alley.

Because he had no identification, or rather, no identification from this world.

The man, who was no longer young but still looked somewhat cute, said, "What exactly happened?"

"A parallel universe?"

"Do parallel universes really exist?"

"I traveled to a parallel universe, so everything here looks pretty much the same as what I know."

"But there's no Oscorp, no MJ, and none of the things I'm familiar with."

"How am I supposed to get back?"

He suddenly looked up and saw a spider crawling on the opposite wall. Then the little thing quickly scurried away.

———

[The Sanctum Sanctorum, Underground Chamber]

Alex made himself look dejected as he sat on the floor.

The naked black man suddenly pointed at the lizard behind Doctor Octopus and said, "Connors, is that you?"

Doctor Octopus asked curiously, "You know that monster?"

The man shook his head, "That's not a monster. That's a person."

"Curt Connors is a scientist from Oscorp."

"A very talented scientist, until he turned into a lizard."

"What's even crazier is that he wanted to turn everyone into lizards."

"I don't want to become some slimy cold-blooded animal."

The Lizard spoke up, "No, Max. That's the next step in human evolution."

Doctor Octopus spread his hands, "Oh, great. So you can talk. I thought you were some kind of animal."

Professor Lizard ignored Otto and looked at the black man, "And what happened to you?"

"I remember you had rotten teeth and wore glasses."

"Did you get plastic surgery?"

"Trust me, I can really transform you."

Max asked, "Into a lizard?"

"That's right," Professor Connors was clearly enthusiastic about lizards as a species.

"Leave me alone."

"I'd rather die than turn into a lizard," Max had no interest in it.

Alex raised his head at this point and dutifully played the role of Sandman, "Shut up, all of you."

"You're giving me a headache."

"Where are we now?"

Just now, he had used a scan to discover that the chubby kid and MJ opposite him were filled entirely with sophisticated machinery.

When he had been teleported here and saw the two of them, he had been stunned for a moment, thinking the chubby kid had escaped the warehouse and MJ had reconciled with Peter Parker.

Only after discovering that they were two robots did he understand. This was Staro's trick.

In order to maintain a "happy ending," that guy had created two robots to act as temporary stand-ins.

No wonder Spider-Man still had the time to hunt down Electro, Max. It turned out Staro was pushing things along from behind the scenes.

Since that was the case, he had to play the role of Sandman, Flint Marko, properly.

And Alex intended to turn the tables and make use of Staro's two robots.

At this moment, the chubby kid robot opposite him said, "It's a little complicated to explain."

The MJ robot also said, "This is a sorcerer's underground chamber."

Max thought he had heard wrong, "You said this is a sorcerer's underground chamber?"

The MJ robot nodded, "That's right."

Max was clearly getting irritated, "I don't care about any magic. I just want to experience the new electricity."

He was an ambitious man. Once an ordinary person, after stepping into the supernatural world, he no longer wanted to return to his old life.

That was why, in the movie, he stole Iron Man's arc reactor from Spider-Man and used it to strengthen himself, becoming a powerful supervillain.

Alex silently watched him and used "Mind Invasion" to speak inside his head.

'That's right. I can become stronger.'

'As long as I can leave this damn place.'

Max shuddered, "Who's talking in my head?"

"Is this magic too?"

Ned and MJ's two robots looked at each other.

Doctor Octopus sneered, "What magic?"

"That's just your own thoughts, idiot."

"I often hear my own inner voice too. Here it comes again."

"Shut up!"

"Shut up!"

Doctor Octopus angrily slapped his own head, startling Max.

At this moment, MJ's phone rang.

The robot looked at the number and picked up the phone, "Hey, Peter."

["Did they make it over?"]

["I mean the two people from the parallel universe,"] Peter Parker's voice came from the phone, ["It should be the Electric Man and Sandman."]

"Yes, they're here."

"They've both been locked up," the MJ robot replied.

["Great. I'll be back later."]

["I need to fix things up so everyone doesn't blame me again."]

The MJ robot nodded, "Okay."

["I wouldn't have succeeded without you. Thanks, MJ,"] After saying that, Peter Parker hung up.

Alex's ears twitched. He heard the entire conversation between the robot and Spider-Man.

He knew that what followed would be a long wait.

Spider-Man wouldn't return until tomorrow.

And he would bring Green Goblin, Osborn, with him.

Before coming, he would be persuaded by Aunt May, his saintly sense of justice going into overdrive, and would then try to steal the magic device from Doctor Strange.

That was to prevent Doctor Strange from sending these visitors from other universes away.

The kind-hearted Spider-Man intended to solve these villains' problems so they wouldn't have to return to their original universes and die.

So once Peter Parker came back, he could simply follow the plot and leave the Sanctum Sanctorum.

———

At the same time, that same night, high above New York, a faint light kept streaking across the sky.

It was Captain Marvel.

After leaving the Avengers compound, Carol began searching for the person who had sent her the footage.

She was certain that person was just as troublesome as Alex.

And just as necessary to restrain.

Using her equipment, Carol analyzed the signal and tracked it back to its source.

But when she reached the source, she only found a device that had been smashed and thrown into a garbage can.

The device had been modified using a computer, and it was clearly designed for one-time use.

After successfully sending the footage, the other party had immediately destroyed it, specifically to prevent anyone from tracing the signal back.

Carol used her equipment to connect to New York's network and found some footage. In the footage, she could see a man in a long black coat operating the device.

Carol captured an image of the man and then used a facial recognition system to search the entire city for him.

She discovered that the man appeared in various parts of New York.

Sometimes, he even appeared in several places at the same time.

If the man didn't have twin brothers, then he had some kind of special ability that allowed him to appear in multiple places at once.

Either way, Carol found it troublesome.

All she wanted now was to catch the man in the long coat as quickly as possible.

Just as Carol flew overhead.

Inside an apartment building on the ground, someone stood by the window, watching a faint light flash across the sky.

"What a hassle."

"Captain Marvel is looking for me."

"She's already dealt with my 'brother'?"

"That's not surprising."

"According to my calculations, the chances of my 'brother' defeating Captain Marvel are less than thirty percent."

"But the problem is, if they fought in New York, there's no reason there wouldn't be any disturbance."

"Unless my 'brother' has the ability to 'create a battlefield,' or Captain Marvel has an overwhelming advantage and was therefore able to end the fight without causing a commotion."

The man's figure was reflected in a window. From the reflection, it could be seen that he was an ordinary-looking man.

But his eyes occasionally gave off a blue glow. The light wasn't strong, however, and would be difficult to notice without careful observation.

And in his field of vision.

The window in front of him had disappeared.

What he saw instead was a multi-grid interface.

Each grid was a video window.

And in those video windows.

He saw the superhuman Spider-Man, who had put his mask back on and returned to the shadows.

He also saw the original Spider-Man, wearing a jacket and with a somewhat cute appearance, climbing onto a rooftop.

He saw that in the underground chamber of the Sanctum Sanctorum, all the other villains except Green Goblin, Osborn, had already been brought back by Peter Parker.

He saw the various corners of New York: busy streets, gloomy alleys, towering skyscrapers, and low-rise houses.

He was monitoring almost the entire city of New York in real time from nearly every angle.

———

Dawn arrived.

Although there was no daylight in the Sanctum Sanctorum's underground chamber.

Alex knew that morning had come.

This was a crucial day.

According to the original plot, Spider-Man would soon release himself and the other villains.

Then they would go together to the apartment Happy had lent Peter Parker as a temporary place to stay.

That night, Green Goblin, Osborn, would turn on them, Electro Max would seize the arc reactor, and finally, May would die.

Because of that blow, Peter Parker would face the darkest day of his life.

Without the support of his friends, without the encouragement of the superhuman Spider-Man and the original Spider-Man.

The Peter Parker of this universe would turn into a demon bent on revenge.

To be honest, when Alex watched the movie back then, he had actually been looking forward to Spider-Man turning dark.

But once again, his saintly sense of justice had exploded, and in the end he didn't kill Green Goblin.

He had to admit, Marvel really liked playing this game.

And the villains were designed in a way that made things really complicated.

Take the Winter Soldier in Captain America 3. Under Hydra's control, he killed Iron Man's parents.

And Green Goblin, Osborn, had also killed quite a few people while being controlled by another personality.

Whether villains like these should be forgiven and given a chance at redemption had become one of the most controversial topics online.

Until the moment Alex crossed over, there had never been an answer to these debates.

Perhaps there never would be.

Alex suddenly heard footsteps.

"They're here," He said it to himself.

Then he raised his head and, sure enough, saw Spider-Man walking in from the other end of the underground chamber with someone.

"This is Mr. Osborn."

"This is Ned and MJ."

Peter Parker introduced both sides.

Osborn looked at MJ with some confusion, "Mary Jane?"

"No."

"I'm Michelle Jones," MJ corrected him.

"How interesting," Osborn walked forward.

He entered the main hall and saw Doctor Octopus, who had turned around with the four mechanical tentacles on his back completely still.

Osborn tried calling out, "Octavius?"

Doctor Octopus turned around with a look of disbelief, "That's impossible."

"Osborn, what are you doing here?"

"I'm just like you."

Osborn had clearly never seen Doctor Octopus like this, "But how did you become like this?"

"How am I?"

Because of the influence of the chip, Doctor Octopus had always had a bad temper, and this was no exception. He shouted, "However I am, I'm still better off than you, you ghost."

Osborn looked confused, "What do you mean?"

Alex, in Sandman's identity, said, "You're dead, Norman Osborn."

"You've been dead for many years."

Osborn looked at the Sandman Alex had transformed into, "And who are you?"

"Do I know you?"

"Why are you saying I'm dead, and that I've been dead for many years?"

"Am I not standing right in front of you alive and well?"

"Are you crazy?"

"He's not crazy," Doctor Octopus said.

At this moment, Peter Parker walked down and looked at Alex, "What are you talking about?"

"He's right here. How does he look like a ghost?"

Alex pointed at Doctor Octopus, "Not just Norman Osborn."

"That one is dead too."

"They all died fighting Spider-Man."

This was a crucial scene.

Spider-Man only wanted to reverse these villains' fates and save them because he knew that they would all die, while also knowing that each of them had their own reasons, or rather, flaws, which had led them to become Spider-Man's mortal enemies and ultimately meet their deaths.

He wanted to reverse those endings and save these villains, which was why he had the motivation and determination to oppose Doctor Strange.

Now that Sandman wasn't here, Alex could only take Sandman's place and make this scene happen.

As groundwork for another "performance" that night.

Alex continued, "That would be big news."

"Green Goblin was impaled through the heart by his own glider."

"Two years later, Doctor Octopus, you and your machines drowned in a river."

Doctor Octopus immediately said, "Nonsense."

"Spider-Man wanted to shut down my nuclear fusion reactor. I stopped him, grabbed him by the neck, and then..."

When he got to this point, Doctor Octopus froze for a moment before continuing, "Then I came here."

"Listen to me."

"I knocked Spider-Man down."

Max said smugly, "He caused an electrical overload, and I absorbed electricity from the power grid."

"I was about to become pure energy, and then…"

It was as if he suddenly remembered something.

"Oh, no."

"I'm going to die soon."

At this moment, the voice inside his head spoke again.

'Yes, you'll die.'

'Max, you should find a way to stay in this universe.'

'There's new electricity here. You can become even stronger.'

'You just need a sufficiently powerful source of electricity. Since this world has magic, there might be a small, portable power source that can provide far more electricity than a power plant.'

'There has to be!'

Professor Connors, the Lizard, stepped forward and asked, "Max, do you know that I died?"

But before the black man could answer, Doctor Strange returned.
