"Yes," Lachlan replied stiffly, turning to walk toward the tribe.
Evangeline followed him, and only after crossing two snowy mountains did they arrive at the Frost-plain Tribe.
However, just as Lachlan had said, the Frost-plain Tribe was already decaying. There was none of the usual laughter and joy of a normal tribe. Even before stepping inside, she could feel the dead silence and ruin within.
Seeing Lachlan return, someone from the tribe quickly came out to greet them. It was a female.
"Brother Lachlan! You're finally back!"
The female stepped forward, wanting to embrace Lachlan, but he subtly drew back and glanced into the tribe.
"Brother Lachlan..." The female's eyes dimmed, but she quickly pulled herself together and asked, "Brother Lachlan, did you manage to invite a Witch?"
Evangeline stared at her for a moment and recognized her.
This was the female from the Snow Leopard Clan who had caused the original owner to have a breakdown—Galen.
