"Audrey, you look very beautiful today."
Vincent Hawthorne took a step closer to Faye Vaughn, complimenting her in his gentle, refined manner.
Faye Vaughn's eyes curved into a smile as she joked, "To hear you say it like that, Lawyer Hawthorne, you must have thought I wasn't beautiful last time."
Her smile was radiant, with a hint of playful slyness.
Vincent Hawthorne, infected by her smile, lifted the corners of his mouth as well. "Forgive my poor choice of words."
Faye Vaughn shook her head. "A great lawyer who's not good with words? No one would believe that."
Vincent Hawthorne handed her a concert ticket. "It's still early. Would you like to get something to eat first?"
Faye Vaughn looked around and noticed a nicely decorated coffee shop. "Shall we go get some coffee?"
Vincent Hawthorne made a gesture for her to go first.
The two of them walked toward the coffee shop.
The shop was already full, mostly with people going to the concert.
