The Briarwood was remote, and the abandoned pavilion Liam Linden had mentioned wasn't easy to find.
After Vincent Hawthorne and Faye Vaughn arrived, they searched along the riverbank in the woods for over half an hour before they faintly heard a sound.
"Help... help me... Mmph..."
It sounded like Vivian Windsor's cries for help.
Vincent Hawthorne suddenly grabbed Faye Vaughn's wrist. "Come on," he said in a low voice, "let's go."
Faye Vaughn glanced down at his hand. He was gripping her wrist tightly, as if he was afraid she would run off and he wouldn't be able to save Vivian Windsor.
'It was clear that Vivian Windsor was still very important to him.'
Vincent Hawthorne quickened his pace, dragging Faye Vaughn toward the pavilion.
"Mmph... Vince..."
Inside the pavilion, Vivian Windsor was tied to a wooden railing, her mouth covered with black tape. She could only make muffled sounds.
