Riley Perry deliberately asked him, "You're taking me to meet your friends? Aren't you worried your future girlfriend will get angry, Mr. Sinclair?"
Cole Sinclair: "Girlfriend?"
For some reason, his first reaction to her saying the word "girlfriend" was rejection.
'How could someone like me ever get a girlfriend?'
'Wouldn't that just be ruining someone's life?'
"I won't have a girlfriend."
Riley Perry smiled, revealing two deep dimples. 'This man is so stubborn. Fine, no girlfriend, huh? I'll remember that.'
"Have you sworn off love and relationships, Mr. Sinclair? No wonder the Sinclair Group became number one in the country. I finally see how."
Cole Sinclair felt there was an odd undertone to her comment. He sensed she was mocking him, but he didn't know how to argue back.
"I've said it before. As long as you behave, I can extend the contract. I don't plan on getting a girlfriend, so you won't be a problem."
