Just then, another knock came from the door.
Erin Lowell went to open the door. Outside stood Ian Sheffield, dressed in a suit, his gaze gentle, as if it held all the tenderness in the world. "I've contacted the lawyer," he said. "I'll go with you."
Erin Lowell had no intention of accepting the inheritance left by Old Mr. Sullivan. It needed to be legally notarized, so she had asked Ian Sheffield for help.
"Aren't you busy?" she asked. "I can go by myself."
Ian Sheffield had cleaned up so many of her messes. She didn't want to trouble him with something so small.
"Not busy."
He said only those two words.
After speaking, his gaze fell on the person inside the room. "There's a lot of press outside. Be careful when you go out."
The press was there for the latest news on Rhea Thorne, but Jocelyn wasn't too worried. She nodded. "Okay, Boss."
With that, she grabbed her scarf from a chair and a mask from the table. Bundled up securely, she slipped past the two of them.
