「Nine-thirty in the evening.」
A light rain was falling. It wasn't a downpour, but in the quiet surroundings, you could hear it pattering against the roof of the shelter.
Erin Lowell emerged, having changed her clothes. The mountain air was much colder at night, so she wore sneakers, long pants, and a down jacket.
Seeing that she was finished, Zane Jennings stepped out from under the shelter, his skin pale. "All done?"
She was holding another jacket in her hand. She held it out to him. "Are you hungry?"
He reached out and took it, holding it in his hand as he shifted a little closer to her. "Starving."
Erin Lowell wasn't sure if she was angry or not. She kept her expression neutral, but for the first time, she stared at him brazenly, not looking away for even a second.
Surprise flickered across Zane Jennings's face. "What's wrong? Has it only been a few days and you don't recognize me anymore? Or am I so handsome you're mesmerized?"
