"Excuse me?!" Beta Basil spluttered in disbelief. "I must have misheard― you want me, the pack's beta, to clean a dungeon cell? I'm going to be your future father-in-law! Are you insane, Caius?"
"Did I stutter?" Caius retorted without missing a beat. "And you don't have to clean this dungeon cell. It's Yvette who has to stay here, not you."
Beta Basil's face purpled. "I won't let my daughter do this alone! Since when have you learned to treat people like this!"
Caius merely blinked and pointed at the cell. "Are you going in to help or not? If not, Yvette will just stay in the room like this."
"Your father will hear about this― I am your elder, and I deserve respect!" Beta Basil blustered, waving his hands about. "How can you make me and my daughter personally clean when… when this girl is perfectly capable of doing the job! She's trained to clean, too!"
