[IRIS POV]
Feeling slightly unnerved by their attention, I quickly nodded in agreement, telling them they must not overwork themselves on my behalf. They reluctantly accepted my decision, and they went back to the infirmary to check on Martin, leaving Caius and me alone on the grounds.
"They're… devoted to you," Caius said. "Should I be worried?"
"Only if you do something to cross me," I said jokingly, but it didn't feel like it.
Blood debts weren't to be taken lightly. Throughout history, there have been alphas who were overthrown by their own warriors precisely because blood debts were used to garner power and oust them from their seat. As such, I wasn't going to tell Caius the true reason for their loyalty.
"They're just really thankful I saved Martin," I finished, stretching my body.
"You look happy," Caius mused.
