Sora's POV
"What do you mean?" Yeongjae asked, his voice tight with confusion—and something deeper. Fear.
I didn't answer right away.
My eyes were already fixed on the hospital entrance, where red and blue lights flickered against the glass doors. Police cars.
Good.
I started walking faster, my heels clicking sharply against the pavement. I could hear them behind me, matching my pace without another word.
"He said he wasn't home," I began, my voice steady despite the storm building inside my chest. "He said he was on his way to see his mom."
The automatic doors slid open.
Cold air hit my skin.
"The mental facility is two hours away from here," I continued as we stepped inside. "But when I called, the receptionist said there was no request for a visit."
I pressed the elevator button harder than necessary.
"And they don't allow visitors past hours unless they specifically ask for them."
The doors opened.
We stepped in.
