There were plenty of ways for me to level up, catching many pals, exploring new areas and crafting items leads to one being able to level up.
To deal with the first tower and take down Zoey he would have to deal with her Pal Grizzbolt which was a large bear who uses electricity to attack along with his claws.
The type Grizzbolt is weak to would be a ground type Pal, but besides Fuddler I don't have any other Ground Type Pals.
So I should hunt down stronger Pals such as maybe a Warsect or even an Anubis who would be best suited to fight her Grizzbolt.
But those pals were found in the more tougher areas and as such my best bet was to get stronger, level up, make better gear and catch these pals.
Luckily with the Ancient parts, some stone and newly made cloth I was able to create my own Incubators, I only had enough parts to make 5 of them, but if I wanted more I needed to explore dungeons more for better loot at that.
But more importantly the stronger the Pal I defeat the more experience I can get, and I learned that Ancient Technology points can only be gained by taking down Alpha Pals and wandering Boss Alpha Pals.
And my best bet was the Giant Boss Mammorest around my base, I had stronger Spheres and gear so now I think that I had the power to capture a boss pal at that.
So after having everything and making sure my Mercy Ring was on I headed out of my first base with all my gear along with my Alpha Foxsparks who was the perfect choice in dealing with a Grass Type Pal like Mammorest.
We then went across the small bridge near the pond I made my base by and down the hill to see the giant Mammorest milling about, then I saw its high level of 38 making this Pal more than 10 levels higher than me.
I had to think of a plan but then I stopped to think, 'Wait a second, if this is a game world then does everything follow game mechanics as well?'
I might not have a full grasp on my past as its spotty in the places having to deal with personality but I remember something and that's if the monster, or pal in this instance, is set to move in only one area they tend to walk the same path.
"And those eyes…" I mutter and realized that Mammorests eyes were completely blank as if nothing was there.
This made me believe that until captured a Boss Pal set in the open world will follow set rules and path around the same way.
Thinking this I watched the Mammorest and saw that it kept slowly walking down the same path, but since it was [Docile] it wouldn't attacked until provoked, so what if I hurt it without using any physical attacks?
Thinking this thought and knowing the Mammorest was following a set path I thought of a different idea, if Mammorest is a grass type then they are weak to fire, so I just need to make a fire source in the way of its path.
So then getting behind the Mammorest I placed down some wood and used Foxsparks to light the fire, then I would move it a bit away and make a new fire behind Mammorest and repeat this over and over.
Soon enough the entire path Mammorest would take was covered in small campfires, now I had to see if this was going to work.
Soon enough Mammorest arrived back at the first campfire and like a mindless boss they stepped on the flame.
Then there grass fur caught on fire but since the fire wasn't an [Attack] they didn't react even though their health was beginning to slowly whittle down their health by taking damage over time from the Flames.
After awhile Mammorest had walked over every campfire I made an had their health lowered down to less than 10% by the time the fires all died out on their body.
Seeing this I called Foxsparks back before pulling out a Gigasphere and taking aim at the Mammorests back and tossing it.
It was soon sucked up into the Palshphere with only a 40% chance to catch as the Sphere began to violently shake only to suddenly burst open letting Mammorest out.
"Damnit!" I shout out and take aim as Mammorest violently roars to the sky before shooting it with my crossbow.
It takes some damage but it goes from 10% to 9.5%, clearly this won't be enough, however I was able to create a back up just in case.
I pulled out of my Inventory a fully loaded old fashioned Musket as I cocked back the Flinklock hammer before pulling the trigger.
*Bang!*
The bullet Whizzed out from the end of the barrel and slamming straight into Mammorests thick hide making them scream out in pain and knocking out 6% of their health in one shot.
Now down to only 3.5% of their health remaining I took out another Gigasphere and tossed it, this time pulling it in and the capture rate going up to 55%
It shook once more, this time the first clear passed through bumping the capture rate up to 85% but even at that the capture failed again.
I didn't have time to load my musket again so I pulled my crossbow back out and loaded it while it was still trying to break out and when it broke free I aimed and had an arrow hit them in the head.
This bumped them down to 1.5% of their health with a critical hit before I pulled out the Gigasphere one more time and tossed it again with a Capture rate going up to 60%
It passed the first checkpoint hitting 90% now until it shook once more at 100% before the capture was finally complete and the Alpha Boss Mammorest was captured.
[Level Up x6]
[1 Ancient Tech Point]
Now I was level 28 and could make myself an actual Handgun for myself, but leveling up and gathering more materials is needed and then I could go out and search for a Warsect or an Anubis to deal with the next Tower Boss.
Things are beginning to get better and better for myself as I prepare to take on my first Tower in the near future and if I can't find those two my new Mammorest will do for the upcoming battle.
