Leon's Pov
By morning, I was already irritated, not because of lack of sleep this time, but because every answer I got lately seemed to uncover three more problems underneath it, and I was starting to understand why Rico kept implying this entire thing was larger than Brielle.
Brielle was involved.
Emily too.
Caroline had already confirmed enough for that.
But none of them felt like the center anymore, just people moving around something bigger.
I stood near the office windows looking down at the city while Noah worked behind me at the conference table with two laptops open beside him.
"You need to sit down before you punch somebody today," he muttered.
"I'm not in the mood."
"That's exactly my point."
I ignored him.
The office was too quiet this early. Normally I liked that. Today it just made every thought louder.
Noah clicked something behind me.
Then the silence changed, not physically, mentally.
"Leon."
