I barely slept.
Not because I couldn't.
Because every time I closed my eyes, I saw Ava's building again.
The parked car.
The driver looking away too quickly.
The timing of the access logs.
And the worst part was that none of it gave me anything concrete enough to act on properly yet. Suspicion without proof was useless. It made people reckless, emotional, impulsive.
Exactly what Rico kept accusing me of becoming.
By six in the morning, I was already back at the office.
Noah looked up the second I walked into the conference room.
"You look terrible."
"Good morning to you too."
"That was my morning greeting."
I ignored him and dropped the file in my hand onto the table.
"Tell me something useful."
Noah leaned back slightly in his chair.
"You first."
"What."
"You went to her building last night."
That immediately pulled my attention toward him.
"How do you know that?"
