Leon's Pov
I was halfway through another meeting I wasn't listening to when Noah called.
Not texted.
Called.
That alone was enough to make me stand immediately.
"I'll continue this later," I said, already walking out before anybody responded.
The second the office door shut behind me, I answered.
"What."
Noah sounded tense immediately.
"We found Emily."
I stopped walking.
"Where."
"Her apartment."
Something in his tone made my stomach tighten instantly.
"What happened."
"I think somebody got there before us."
By the time I arrived twenty minutes later, Noah was already outside the building waiting for me near the entrance.
The expression on his face told me enough before he even spoke.
Bad.
Not loud bad.
Controlled bad.
The dangerous kind.
"You went in already?" I asked.
"Yes."
"And?"
Noah exhaled quietly.
"You need to see it yourself."
We went upstairs without speaking again.
The apartment door was partially open when we reached it.
Not broken.
