By the time we got back to the apartment, Leon was already there.
That alone told me how serious this was because there was no way he should've reached before us unless he drove like an actual psychopath.
Which honestly…
He probably did.
The second we stepped out of Lucas' car, Leon was already walking toward us from across the street.
Not calmly either.
Fast.
Focused.
His eyes moved over me immediately like he was checking for injuries before anything else.
"You're okay?" he asked.
"Yes."
"Did they follow you all the way here?"
"I don't know."
"What car?"
Lucas answered before I could.
"Dark gray sedan. Tinted windows. Same route twice."
Leon looked toward him sharply.
"You got the plate?"
"Partial."
"Why didn't you call me sooner?" Leon asked immediately.
I frowned.
"Excuse me?"
His eyes snapped back toward me.
"You should've called the second you noticed."
"It happened fast."
"That's not an excuse."
I stared at him.
"Don't do that."
