Chapter 238 - Chapter 238: Breaking the Blood Curse

Walking to the gate of Ravenclaw Castle, Amanda slowly raised her hand and pressed it against the gate. The moment her hand touched it, the gate swung open with a crash.

Accompanied by the clanging of metal, Ravenclaw Castle appeared before Amanda's eyes behind the gate.

Stepping through the gate, Amanda recalled all the knowledge she had ever learned in her mind. The magic in the path beneath her feet was triggered, allowing her to walk smoothly and quickly to the entrance of the Castle.

The path in front of Ravenclaw Castle was also known as the "Path of Knowledge." By thinking about the knowledge one had learned while walking on it, one could quickly reach the Castle entrance from the gate.

But if one walked on it without thinking of any knowledge, then unfortunately, even if one spent their entire life, they would only be able to walk on that path forever.

The doors of Ravenclaw Castle slowly opened. After entering, Amanda turned into the corridor on the left with a clear objective.

Along the long corridor were doors one after another. Behind these doors were the rooms where the heads of the Pure-blood families were imprisoned.

Amanda, being quite humane, did not lock them in dungeons, but instead confined them in relatively comfortable rooms.

Aside from being unable to leave the room and the food being a bit subpar every day, they could even get some sunlight daily.

The food, while not luxurious, was nutritionally balanced.

Walking to the door of one of the rooms, Amanda pushed it open and entered. The giant snake coiled in the room instantly straightened its body, turning its head toward Amanda and baring its teeth threateningly.

A low hissing sound was constantly emitted toward her, but other than that, the giant snake made no other moves, as if it would only warn and not attack.

Stepping up to the giant snake, Amanda's face remained as calm as a leaf unmoved by the wind as she reached out and pressed her hand onto the snake's head.

In the next moment, the snake's body flickered, and a small piece of snake meat appeared in Amanda's hand.

Looking down at her palm, Amanda murmured softly, "Nagini."

Putting the snake meat back into her wizard robe pocket, Amanda looked up at the giant snake, which had clearly become much stiffer and more dull, and remained silent for two seconds.

Ultimately, she chose not to deal with it now and turned to leave the room.

Closing the room door, Amanda walked out of Ravenclaw Castle through the corridor again. After passing the Path of Knowledge and exiting the gate, she left the place through a spatial rift and returned to Hogwarts.

With an indifferent expression, she opened the compartment door and walked quickly toward the Great Hall. After entering the Great Hall, she sat at the Ravenclaw Table and lowered her head to eat lunch.

"Where did you go?" Hermione swallowed the steak in her mouth and looked sideways at Amanda.

She actually didn't come to eat with the other Ravenclaws of the same year today, but arrived a bit late. This was a bit unusual.

Amanda looked up at Hermione, her expression unchanged, and told a partial truth in a flat tone, "I went to Ravenclaw Castle to get some things to help me research Nagini's condition."

"I see."

Hermione nodded in understanding. Since it concerned Nagini, it was related to Amanda's secret plan, so she decided not to ask further.

After lunch, they returned to Ravenclaw Tower. As soon as Amanda entered the Dormitory, she sat at her desk and took out the piece of snake meat from Nagini from her pocket.

Amanda pulled out her wand and waved it over it. A detection spell enveloped the snake meat, telling her from a factual standpoint that it was indeed snake meat, genuine and authentic.

Frowning slightly, Amanda switched to another spell, "Revelio."

The spell shot from the tip of her wand and covered the snake meat on the table. Powerful magic forced its way into the meat, and strands of red magic were forced to appear on the surface of the snake meat.

However, while a cursory glance suggested it was on the surface, after Amanda's magic forced its way deeper, she learned that this red magic was present in every single part of the snake meat, from the inside out.

To put it bluntly, in Muggle terms, every cell in this piece of snake meat contained this red magic, which was influencing and controlling every cell within it.

Was this why Nagini turned into a snake? Amanda lowered her eyes slightly. Because this red magic was influencing her every moment, it caused her to turn into a snake from the most microscopic level.

Even a small piece of meat taken from her body maintained the appearance of snake meat; the red magic was still active.

However, it also indirectly proved that as long as this red magic was removed, Nagini might be able to return to normal.

Thinking of this, Amanda immediately waved her wand again, casting her most familiar Levitation Charm on the snake meat.

However, this time she didn't intend to levitate the entire piece of snake meat at all. On the contrary, her Levitation Charm continued to penetrate deeper into the meat, deeper and deeper.

From the whole piece of meat to every muscle fiber, then to every cell within the fibers, and finally to every speck of red magic within each cell.

By the time the Levitation Charm had enveloped every speck of red magic in the snake meat, sweat had begun to bead on Amanda's forehead.

To be honest, this level of spell micro-manipulation was not much easier than using the Levitation Charm to control a meteorite crashing into Earth.

Taking a deep breath, Amanda steadied her hand holding the wand and focused her mind. In the next moment, her pupils shrank sharply, and she suddenly lifted her arm with force.

"Rise!"

Gritting her teeth, she forced out the word. The veins on Amanda's right arm bulged, and several blood vessels became visible on her forehead. Even her fair and beautiful face turned bright red.

This Blood Curse was rooted so deeply in the human body that even for Amanda's Levitation Charm, pulling it out was incredibly difficult.

But... it wasn't impossible. Amanda spread her legs slightly, her arm exerting force along with her waist and legs. With a long cry, the red magic in this small piece of snake meat was pulled out by the roots.

The red magic, which existed in every cell like a maggot on a bone, was completely extracted from the snake meat.

Amanda also lost her balance due to the excessive force she exerted and stumbled backward. Fortunately, the moment she fell, three pairs of hands firmly supported her from behind.

"Thank you, Hermione. Thank you, Senior Cho Chang and Senior Marietta."

Amanda struggled to stand up and turned to thank Hermione, Cho Chang, and Marietta Eckmore.

At the same time, her right wrist flicked slightly, and the red magic controlled by the Levitation Charm burned up in a burst of golden flames, dissipating completely.

Amanda stood in place to recover for a moment. During this time, Hermione naturally reached out to support her waist. Then, with Hermione's assistance, she slowly walked forward and looked down carefully at the meat that had originally belonged to Nagini.

No, it should no longer be called snake meat; it had returned to its proper form.

Hermione's face turned slightly pale as she looked at the object on the table. Combining its appearance and other factors, she could still tell that this was not animal meat.

But then she remembered it was on Amanda's desk, and she had clearly been extracting a red magic-like substance from the meat just now. Did that mean... Hermione's arm around Amanda tightened unconsciously, and she looked at Amanda, speaking with a hint of disbelief and excitement.

"Amanda, did you... did you overcome the Blood Curse?"

Cho Chang and Marietta Eckmore, standing behind them, were also stunned, looking at Amanda in disbelief.

The Blood Curse—they had only read about it in books. It was said that even Headmaster Dumbledore and many famous Wizards throughout history had no solution for it.

But now, their brilliant junior, Amanda, had actually broken the Blood Curse?!

"Yes." Amanda nodded with a slightly pale face, her breathing still somewhat uneven. However, as the magic in her body was rapidly replenished, her condition was also improving quickly.

"However, this method still needs optimization. A specific incantation needs to be developed to enhance the effect."

"Otherwise, using just the Levitation Charm consumes too much magic and physical energy. Even I might not have enough stamina to support the removal of the Blood Curse magic from an entire person's body."

It was very likely that Amanda would collapse from exhaustion before the Blood Curse magic in Nagini's body was completely removed.

And according to Amanda's observation of the Blood Curse magic, it was like a maggot on a bone.

If it wasn't removed from all cells at once, the remaining Blood Curse magic would take root again and spread throughout the body in a very short time.

This thing was just that terrifying, which was why so many master Wizards had been unable to solve the Blood Curse until now.

Because they couldn't use their magic at such a microscopic level like Amanda, or rather, having never learned Muggle knowledge, they couldn't even imagine such a microscopic level existed.

Without knowing about those microscopic levels and without deliberately controlling magic to envelop every single cell, no matter how excellent a master Wizard was, they would always miss one or two cells.

Then the Blood Curse magic would take root again in that person's body. Furthermore, this was assuming all master Wizards had the same amount of magic as Amanda.

If these master Wizards had less magic than her, then their desire to control the Blood Curse magic at the microscopic level would be pure fantasy.

So Amanda needed a spell, a specific spell targeting the Blood Curse, one that could deal a devastating blow to the curse and completely eliminate it from the human body.

Thinking of this, Amanda already had a basic idea for this spell in her mind. First, the foundation of this spell would be the Levitation Charm.

Because the Levitation Charm could be used to pull out the Blood Curse magic. On top of that, suitable Ancient Runes should be added to form a charm.

While her brain was working rapidly, Amanda had already been helped back to her bed by Hermione.

Seeing that Amanda had clearly entered a state of contemplation, Hermione pursed her lips. Without a word, she stood up to pour a glass of water and returned to Amanda's side, waiting for her to finish thinking.

Creating a new spell wasn't particularly difficult for Amanda, but creating a new spell to counter something like the Blood Curse would increase the difficulty exponentially.

Even Amanda couldn't come up with a solution immediately. She could only memorize her current thoughts and wait for another time to think about it further.

Seeing Amanda finish her thinking, Hermione handed her the water glass. "Drink some water to moisten your throat; your voice is hoarse."

She had noticed when Amanda spoke to answer the question just now that her voice was incredibly hoarse.

"Thank you, Hermione."

Thanking her obediently with a hoarse voice, Amanda reached out and took the water glass from Hermione, taking small sips.

"How is the spell development going?"

Hermione helped Amanda tidy her slightly messy hair, asking softly.

"It's alright," Amanda put down the water glass. "I've already decided to use the Levitation Charm as the base point, and I've also identified suitable Ancient Runes for writing this spell."

"The next step is to pick the one that best fits the actual situation from those suitable Ancient Runes."

"I see." Hermione nodded in understanding.

Amanda picked up the water glass again and took a small sip. "But the final step is also the hardest. I need to combine those potential Ancient Runes with the Levitation Charm one by one, test their effects, and then find the most suitable one."

In other words, what Amanda was going to create by merging the Levitation Charm was not just one spell, but a whole bunch of them.

She had to create a series of spells and choose the right one from among them.

However... Amanda blinked her eyes gently and put the water glass down again.

Developing this spell could actually have another purpose: werewolves... Amanda was planning to find a way to completely remove Lycanthropy Toxin. It was also in the human body, also something that needed to be removed. A dedicated spell for Lycanthropy Toxin and one for the Blood Curse might not be too different.

But the specific details would have to wait until Senior Platt sent her the relevant Werewolf samples.

According to Amanda's preliminary judgment, the Lycanthropy Toxin in werewolves was likely a toxin targeting the body and magic. This toxin was triggered by moonlight and then affected the Wizard's body and magic, causing them to turn into werewolves.

The Blood Curse on Blood Curse Beastmen was more like a curse, a curse that grew stronger and stronger. When the curse developed and eventually became stronger than the Wizard themselves, the Wizard would be consumed by it.

And eventually, they would become a Blood Curse Beastman, never able to return to human form.

If her preliminary judgment was correct, then as long as she could find Ancient Runes targeting toxins and curses and then merge them with the Levitation Charm, she could create a magic that could simultaneously remove Lycanthropy Toxin and the Blood Curse.

In that case, the existence of werewolves and Blood Curse Beastmen could be eliminated from the Wizarding World at the same time.

That way, Amanda turned her head to look at Hermione, who was sitting next to her and gently tidying her hair.

It would be much easier for Hermione to take over the Ministry of Magic and govern the British Wizarding World in the future.
