Chapter 239 - Chapter 239: Proper Protection, Sufficient Confidence

On the third day after Amanda broke the Blood Curse, she finally received the Werewolf blood samples sent by Senior Platt.

Upholding the rigorous professional spirit of Ravenclaw House research, Senior Platt provided Amanda with a full fifty sets of samples, meaning she had directly found fifty Werewolf Wizards and extracted their blood samples.

Some tubes of blood samples were even labeled as being from the night of the full moon, meaning they were extracted under the environment where the Werewolf Wizards had completely transformed into werewolves.

Such a quantity and quality of samples made even Amanda stunned for a moment; she felt she could reasonably suspect whether Senior Platt had used alchemy products to breach the living quarters of Werewolf Wizards.

Otherwise, how could she have obtained so many samples of Werewolf Wizards from the market? This was just too impressive!

With the samples provided by the senior, Amanda's research officially got on track.

After research, Amanda first confirmed her guess: unlike the form of the Blood Curse, the Lycanthropy Toxin in a Werewolf's body is a special kind of toxin.

It parasitizes the Wizard's body and magic. Every night of the full moon, this toxin becomes unprecedentedly active, eroding the magic within the Wizard's body and changing their physical form, thereby transforming a Wizard from a human into a Werewolf.

During this process, the Lycanthropy Toxin also releases a certain amount of toxins into the Wizard's brain, causing them to lose their sanity.

These conclusions were all deduced by Amanda based on the final results after Werewolf Wizards transform and the basic attributes of the Lycanthropy Toxin.

According to these deduced answers, Amanda began simultaneously creating Charms suitable for removing the Lycanthropy Toxin and Charms suitable for removing the Blood Curse.

Both were based on the Levitation Charm, and eventually, the two paths would surely merge.

Time quietly passed as Amanda worked on breaking the Lycanthropy Toxin and the Blood Curse. A week went by, and the Christmas holiday arrived "as scheduled."

The Weasley Family prepared to pick up Mr. Weasley from St Mungos Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries and, at the invitation of Harry and Sirius, go to 12 Grimmauld Place for Christmas.

Meanwhile, Amanda and Hermione prepared to return to the Granger Residence to spend this Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. Granger.

Sitting on the hogwarts express bound for King's Cross Station, Hermione watched the scenery flash by outside the window and gently rubbed against Amanda's shoulder, which she was leaning on.

"Thank you, Amanda."

"Hmm?" Amanda emerged from her state of contemplation and looked down at Hermione with confusion. "Why is Hermione thanking me? I haven't done anything that requires Hermione to thank me."

Her voice was flat, without even a hint of doubt, yet the sentence she used was clearly a question.

Hermione lifted her head from Amanda's shoulder and looked at her, shaking her head gently. "You have. You've given me enough confidence."

At this, Hermione hugged Amanda's waist and smiled with her head down.

"Without you, in these increasingly dangerous days after Voldemort's resurrection... I would likely go home less and less, and see my mom and dad less and less. Because I know that the more I contact them, the more danger I bring to them."

"In fact, without you, I don't think I would even spend this Christmas with them."

"Even for future summer vacations, I might only stay with them for a few days before heading to 12 Grimmauld Place."

Hearing Hermione's words, Amanda felt a surge of bitterness in her heart for some reason—not for herself, but rather a sense of distress for Hermione.

Hugging Amanda's waist and looking up at her from her chest, Hermione's gaze met Amanda's.

A bright smile bloomed on Hermione's face as she straightened up and gently kissed the corner of Amanda's lips. "But now that I have you, I have confidence—the confidence to go home."

Because Hermione knew that with Amanda's ability, she must have already arranged everything, including the protection of her parents. With Amanda's ability, Voldemort would never have the chance to act recklessly.

It could be said that it was precisely Amanda's presence that gave Hermione the confidence to do whatever she wanted, and what she wanted to do included family reunions.

Amanda lowered her head and gently rubbed her forehead against Hermione's. Her cold and icy voice became gentle and warm. "Auntie and Uncle treat me like their own daughter. Of course, I will protect them well. Not to mention they are Hermione's parents, so I must protect them even better. After all, I am very, very..."

Amanda's expression slowly became confused, like a computer stuck due to a mysterious program glitch, unable to continue the process.

She was very, very what, Hermione? She clearly wanted to say it, yet why couldn't she say anything?

"It's okay," Hermione chuckled, sitting up straight and pulling Amanda into her arms. "I already know what you want to say."

"Don't force yourself. Just say it when you're able to."

"Okay," Amanda whispered, pursing her lips, and was met with Hermione's soft and sweet lips.

During the short train ride, the two girls kissed and didn't let go of each other. They kissed for several minutes before slowly separating when the hogwarts express stopped at King's Cross Station.

After separating, Hermione's lips were moist, and she gently wiped the corner of Amanda's mouth with a satisfied expression. Amanda, on the other hand, nestled in Hermione's arms with slightly swollen lips, looking at her with slightly hurried breath.

"We've arrived. We should get off the train."

Hermione gently stroked Amanda's cheek. Amanda nodded and rose from Hermione's arms. After waiting a couple of seconds for her slightly weak legs to regain strength, she reached out to pull her and Hermione's suitcases out of the compartment.

Hermione followed closely behind, smiling as she took her suitcase from Amanda and walked off the hogwarts express side by side with her.

The two girls left the station together. As soon as they stepped through that wall, they saw Mr. and Mrs. Granger standing not far away.

"Mom, Dad!" The now-grown Hermione still ran toward her parents as joyfully as she did when she was a child.

However, she wasn't entirely like her childhood self; she slowed down before rushing into her mother's arms. As they hugged, she had already grown to the same height as her mother.

Amanda walked forward slowly with the suitcases, watching the scene with a smile. Her heart felt as warm as the spring sun.

Seeing Hermione finish her hug with Mrs. Granger and greet Mr. Granger, Amanda then politely nodded to the two.

"Good morning, Auntie and Uncle."

"Good morning." Mrs. Granger gave Amanda a tight hug, just like she did with her own daughter, and even gave her a kiss on the forehead, more so than she did with Hermione.

"I'm so glad to see you've both grown quite a bit. Come on, let's go home."

Amanda nodded with a smile, and the family of four walked toward the exit of King's Cross Station in harmony.

Leaving the station, Amanda followed Hermione into the back seat of the car at the entrance. Mr. Granger started the car and drove toward home.

As soon as they got home, Hermione keenly sensed something was wrong. She turned her head sharply to look at Amanda.

Amanda noticed Hermione's gaze and also turned her head, blinking "innocently."

"Hermione, what's wrong?"

Hermione looked back at the ten-meter-high concrete wall around her yard and the thick special steel gate, silently giving Amanda a thumbs-up.

She knew Amanda would help her protect her mom and dad, but she didn't realize her actions would be this fast.

However, "Are we actually allowed to renovate the front of our house like this?"

Hermione got out of the car and tapped the gate in front of her with some surprise. Along with her movement, the heavy gate made a dull sound.

"As long as the money is right, it's possible."

Amanda tilted her head, not seeing any problem with such a renovation.

"A product of Factory No. 36, a Magical Explosion-proof Door," she said while gently tapping the gate. "A combination of special steel and permanent protective magic, it can effectively withstand missile-level explosions and impacts. At the same time, it has the ability to forbid Apparition and portkeys."

"These two effects can be turned off with the homeowner's consent."

After introducing the gate, Amanda nodded toward the ten-meter-high concrete wall. "A product of Factory No. 66, Class A Protective Magical Concrete, also infused with permanent protective magic. Its resistance is identical to the gate, and it also has anti-air capabilities to prevent Wizards from intruding on flying broomsticks."

Nodding as she listened, Hermione turned to look at Amanda and raised an eyebrow. "Tell me, when will the legislation be changed?"

Developing such things—Hermione didn't believe for a second that it was just for their own home. Amanda wouldn't do things so simply.

The feeling of being understood didn't make Amanda uncomfortable; instead, it made the corners of her lips curve up with pleasure. Although her tone was still flat, her cheerfulness was visible to the naked eye.

"The amendment to the legislation has been preliminarily approved. These two types of protective equipment will enter thousands of households during the summer vacation after Hermione and I finish our fifth year."

"The UK Muggle government has no objections? What about the International Confederation of Wizards? They don't have any objections either? This is laying magic out in front of Muggles."

Amanda shook her head with a calm expression. "Who said this is magic? This is new technology."

"To admit this is magic," Amanda said, patting the concrete wall beside her, "we'll have to wait for Hermione to announce it to everyone."

"I will."

Hermione nodded and looked at the gate and high wall in front of her, her eyes curving with a smile. "With these two things, I'd like to see how many more homes Voldemort can successfully attack."

Doesn't Voldemort love bullying the unarmed ordinary people of the Muggle World? Well, let him try now; see if he can even get through their front doors.

"According to my calculations, with Voldemort's resurrection this time, casualties in both the Muggle World and the Wizarding World will be reduced by more than 98.5% compared to over a decade ago."

While the two girls were talking, Mr. and Mrs. Granger also parked the car and walked over, opening the heavy gate with a key and a code.

With the assistance of the gate's built-in power-assist system, Mr. Granger was able to open the gate easily.

Mrs. Granger led the two girls into the courtyard and rubbed Amanda's small head.

"Those construction crews were definitely called by Amanda, right?"

"Yes," Amanda turned to look at Mrs. Granger and nodded. She was now as tall as Mrs. Granger. "With Voldemort resurrected, Auntie and Uncle, as Hermione's parents, need some tangible protection."

"Also, Auntie, you don't need to worry about the price," Amanda spoke a step ahead, sensing what Mrs. Granger wanted to say. "Except for the custom-made models for certain wealthy individuals, which have no price ceiling, for UK citizens below the wealthy level, the corresponding yard and house renovations are free of charge."

"You'll be able to see the relevant legislation on television next summer."

To promote the protection against Voldemort throughout the UK and effectively reduce the number of people Voldemort might harm, Amanda didn't mind losing some money in the short term.

However, based on her calculations, she wouldn't necessarily lose money. After all, those wealthy people are really willing to spend money to show off their wealth.

Recovering all costs from them should be an achievable goal.

"Pfft," Hermione couldn't help but laugh at Amanda's words. She looked up at Amanda, her eyes full of mirth. "You really have your sights set on fleecing those rich people's wallets."

Amanda nodded as a matter of course. "Yes, they have the most spare cash in their pockets. Of course, I should find more ways to get that spare cash out of their pockets."

"I can't, and shouldn't, try to squeeze the living expenses out of the pockets of ordinary people."

Glancing back at the gate Mr. Granger had just closed, Amanda shrugged casually.

"Anyway, these things now only I sell, and I'm the only one who can research them. If those wealthy people want them, they have to accept my rules."

"And they spend money while I provide them with the sense of superiority they want. That counts as making their money well-spent."

"Yes, yes, yes," Hermione looked at Amanda and smiled with pride, then leaned in to kiss her. "My Amanda is the best."

"Mm," the arrogance and sharpness on Amanda instantly faded, and her face turned slightly red as she leaned into Hermione's arms. "Hermione's..."

Hermione happily hugged Amanda tightly, her voice carrying a hint of bossiness. "Yes, mine. Amanda is mine."

Mr. Granger walked to his wife's side, put his arm around her waist, and watched the "two daughters" embracing in front of them. He leaned down and kissed his wife's cheek.

"It seems our daughter has already found her lifelong happiness. We don't need to worry about her anymore."

"Yes," Mrs. Granger nodded with relief as she looked at Hermione, who seemed mature and reliable while holding Amanda. "Our daughter has grown up. In a few years, we should be able to attend her wedding."

Mr. Granger thought for a moment and nodded. "Calculating the time, indeed, in another three years, Hermione and Amanda can hold their wedding."

"I'm really looking forward to that scene."

Mrs. Granger whispered softly, standing with her husband as they watched the two girls embracing each other.
