As Shade jumped into the the so-called portal,he came out of a tree that he didn't recognize.
'Nope , definitely not the place i entered from' he thought looking at the surroundings around him.
The tree's were far more thicker than the one he had inside his shadow and any tree tree he had seen uptil now after coming to this world.
Their height was the thing that surprised him most as their height were easily longer than any coconut he had seen in his life.
His first instinct after coming out of the portal was to let go of the shadow form he was taking as it was constantly consuming Umbra that he didn't want collect more.
As he let his instinct took over, his form slowly dissolved into shadows like a water flowing into the drainage.
The he opened the panel in his mind to check the accumulation and the amount of Umbra he had left to use as he needed I to collect more.

According to what he can calculate he had around 5 hours worth of Umbra excluding the fact that he needed to use Umbra to form blades in his arms to fight.
'Isn't there a non-killing way to get Umbra fast unlike that slow process' he thought knowing he needed to collect more.
As he was thinking he sensed people coming out of the tree he had just jumped through.
'Looks like our guests have arrived only problem is can't greet them properly ' he thought his true side slowly coming out.

Shade removed the ear hole from listening anymore and moved towards the soldier.
'So these aren't the real ones, I know should absorb their Umbra but killing isn't my strong suit , so first I should gaze their reaction when I appear infront of them', he thought still deciding their fate.
He slowly came out of the shadows slowly materialising infront of them, still having the mask that sent chills down their very soul.
Unknown to their eyes he was slowly stretching a line of shadows on the ground towards their leaders feet slowly rising on them to inside their armor and stopping at their heart.
Every single one of them was shocked on how he suddenly appeared infront of them.
Currently they were trying to do the same thing that he did when talking to the goddess of Knowledge.
Internally they were terrified but outwardly trying their very best to stay calm and be in a combat stance ready for a bloody battle.
"Surrender yourself you vile creature , you have committed the sin of taking our only princess as a hostage" the one in front said probably to buy time.
'Damm, that's the most novel scripted line i have heard in my entire life. Is the author a lazy bum or something to write these lines',he thought trying to hold a laugh.
Then before he was about disappear since they had no intention of attacking,
An arrow pierced his head and gone straight through without any blockage.
They all suddenly turned towards the idiot who hadn't followed his leaders orders and had layed complete waste of a plan.
they realized something that an arrow had gone straight through the targets head looking at the rookie with a gaze admiration.
Then their head suddenly turned towards the sound of the falling dead body of their leader his body laying lifeless in the ground.
Their gaze slowly turned towards shade who had fully healed his head at the cost of Umbra.
Horror crept into their very souls, the faces of admiration they just had for the Rookie turning into hatred as if calling him 'motherfucker'
If shade wasn't here they would've killed him themself. Dying wasn't the problem Dying of someone's stupidity was a big problem.
Shade himself was very angry as he just lost
a good amount of Umbra and he needed to refill one way another.
He had just turned the shadow he had sent towards their leader in to a spike pearcing his heart and killing him instantly.
Then moved that same shadow in the man's shadow to pull it towards him to recover his Umbra and also getting the man's shadow as a bonus.
Then he slowly turned towards the rookie had just shot the arrow.
Few moments ago rookie had just noticed that no one was focusing on him including the target.
So he realized in dreams of killing the target, marrying the princess and becoming an high ranked noble who had just avenged the princess honor.
He shot an arrow that was given to him by his best friend who had married his girlfriend.
He concluded that the arrow was unlucky and he would turn that unluck into luck.
But at that moment he knew he fucked up
Cause at his last moments only one sentence came out of his mouth.
