Chapter 37 - chapter 37:found out

"ahhhhhhhh" Faye's scream ricocheted around the bedroom and Mark, who was in the bathroom, came running out with a towel around his waist.

"What's wrong?" He asked in panicked eyes as he stared at his wife who had a shocked expression on her face.

"I found Hailey!" She replied and Mark sighed, he stared at her with dull eyes.

"What? Am serious!" Faye added.

"Hailey didn't go missing, you scared me with that scream, every normal wife is decorating for the Christmas holiday but mine is giving me a heartattack" Mark replied and Faye frowned.

"Forgive me for being the only one who thinks new Hailey is an imposter!" Faye said.

"She's not," Mark replied.

"That's not what Sophie says" Faye said and a deep frown settled on Mark's face.

"You're talking to Sophie?" He asked in confusion.

"That's not what is important" Faye replied and got down from the bed showing Mark her phone screen.

It was a picture of Sophie.

"Why are you showing me her picture, is this a trap?" Mark asked.

"No it's not, look behind her, the girl in a green dress" Faye said and when Mark saw it his eyes widened.

"Is that Lucy?" Mark asked.

"No it's Hailey, Lucy is supposed to be in Paris right? So how come she's in Australia" Faye asked instead.

"She went to Australia from Paris, who knows?" Mark said and Faye frowned.

"Ask Hardin to confirm Lucy is in Paris again, don't tell him about the news, I would talk to Sophie to speak with this "Lucy" that's in Australia" Faye said And Mark sighed.

She was relentless.

______

"Did you check on Lucy? Is she still in Paris?" Hardin asked Fedrick after he dropped some files on his desk.

"Yes I did and she's living an average life there as I told you before" Fedrick said, his tone low and less confident, he wondered why Hardin was asking him about Lucy again.

"Alright, anything from Rasino?" Hardin asked, referring to Cole's company, they have been oddly quiet.

"No" Fedrick said simply and Hardin nodded.

"Leave" he replied and Fedrick left Hardin's office.

Immediately Fedrick left, Hardin called Mark and

informed him of what Fedrick said cause Mark

said he wanted the information immediately, he

asked why Mark wanted to know about Lucy but he didn't answer which made Hardin more curious.

"Come over to my place today" Mark said to Hardin before hanging up and Hardin sighed.

He had a supposed date with Hailey(Lucy) today and he planned on presenting her with divorce papers during the date but he decided to hold off a bit and meet Mark, it sounded urgent.

Hailey (Lucy) definitely wouldn't like the idea of

cancelling the date but he was too tired to care what she wanted.

*

"What is so important?" Hardin asked as he relaxed on the opposite couch from Faye and Mark.

"There's two shocking pieces of information and you need to be prepared to take it, so relax a bit" Mark said but Faye wasn't ready to let him relax.

"That would be a waste of time, she could be in danger for all we know, brace yourself Hardin" Faye said and Hardin frowned, he wondered what they were talking about.

"Your assistant is a fraud, he is definitely working for Lucy" Faye started and Hardin's frown deepened.

"What do you mean by that? This better not be a prank Faye" Hardin said and Faye rolled her eyes.

"You would know it's not a prank when I tell you the

second big news, the person you've been staying with us Lucy not Hailey, Hailey won't wake up one day and decide to be a model,

she never had the passion for it, I was right all along" Faye said and Hardin stared at her then at Mark who had the agreement look on his face.

"What's going on and how do you guys know that's

Lucy" Hardin asked, if the man he has been staying with for weeks is Lucy then he was going to burn her alive.

Faye explained everything to Hardin and why she thinks Fedrick is working for Lucy and realization dawned on him.

So he would have to burn two people alive. That's why things with Lucy have never worked out well, Fedrick was working for Lucy and giving him false information about her.

Hardin saw red as he stood up and left Mark's place to his mansion.

"Finally, something is going to happen," Faye muttered.

______

Hardin stormed into the mansion, his footsteps echoing through the empty halls. He didn't bother announcing his presence, instead heading straight to the living room where Hailey, no, Lucy was on the couch, flipping through a fashion magazine.

She glanced up at him when she noticed his presence.

"Hey, you're back" She said to him with a smile.

Hardin didn't respond. His piercing gaze seemed to cut through her, and his jaw was clenched so tight it ached.

"What's wrong?" she asked, concern laced in her tone.

"You tell me, Hailey," Hardin said, his voice dangerously low.

"Or should I call you Lucy instead?" Hardin added, his face piercing.

Her face fell for a split second, but she quickly recovered, forcing a laugh.

"What are you talking about? Hardin, it's me, Hailey, is something wrong?" She asked innocently and he took a step closer, eyes blazing.

"Drop the act. I know everything. You've been pretending to be Hailey since you stepped foot here, right?" Hardin yelled.

She opened her mouth to protest, but his icy glare silenced her. Slowly, her lips curled into a mocking smile.

"Well, well... you finally figured it out," Lucy sneered

"I was beginning to think you'd never catch on. You

were so blinded by our resemblance you did spot a difference, I have my acting skills to thank" Lucy smirked and Hardin's hands balled into fists.

"You tricked me. You played me." Hardin said in anger, he couldn't believe he let her deceive him again

"Played you?" Lucy chuckled darkly.

"You played yourself. You wanted to believe I was Hailey so badly that you never noticed the difference.

Besides, I'm a better Hailey than she ever was. You even started falling for me, didn't you?" Lucy asked and His glare sharpened.

"I would never fall for you, I was planning on bringing divorce papers, I knew something was off. What did you do to her?" Hardin asked and Lucy frowned.

"Lies" she sneered but Hardin has heard enough of her, she won't tell him what happened unless he forces it out of her And He pulled out his phone and dialed.

"Get in here now!" He said over the phone before hanging up.

Within seconds, his men appeared at the doorway.

"Take her. Lock her up until I decide what to do with her." He spoke to them.

Lucy's smug expression faltered as the guards approached, but she quickly masked her fear with another smirk.

"Do you think this changes anything? You're just as

pathetic as ever, Hardin. You can't even see how this is all your fault." Lucy yelled.

"Get her out of my sight," Hardin ordered. As they dragged her away, he pulled out his phone again.

"And find Fedrick. Bring him to me. Now."

As the doors slammed shut, Hardin felt his anger simmering, bubbling over.

He had been deceived, manipulated but this time, Lucy would face the consequences.
