Chapter 52
The atmosphere in the large meeting room had grown heavy, long before the clock struck half past ten.
At the head of the polished mahogany table sat an extremely beautiful woman, who looked like the epitome of all things perfect, with curves in the right places, but a cold icy look in her otherworldly face. Her posture was straight, but the aura surrounding her made the entire room feel tense.
The floor to ceiling windows behind her reflected the warm sunlight that bathed the room in a light golden hue, but no one in the room paid attention to it. Instead all eyes were on the beautiful woman... Or it was safe to say that, all eyes kept drifting between her and the conspicuously empty seat beside her.
A middle-aged man, probably around his late forties to early fifties, adjusted his tie and cleared his throat, unable to endure the silence any longer.
