Chapter 120 - Chapter 117 : Baby say hey..!

Ok I...I really don't know why I end up writing this much...🥴

Jay stirred softly in her sleep, her long eyelashes fluttering as warm morning rays fell across her face.

She slowly opened her eyes.

"Keifer..."

His name was, as always, the very first word to cross her lips-just like it had been every single morning since the day she married him.

She stretched her hand out to tap the space beside her...

Empty.

Jay opened her eyes instantly, her head snapping left and right as she looked back and forth across the quiet master suite.

Nothing.

Then her eyes fell onto the bedside table.

Sitting there was a fresh, warm breakfast tray... along with a neatly folded note resting right beside a glass of juice.

Jay tilted her head with a soft sigh, brushing a few stray strands of hair away from her forehead as she reached over to pick up the paper.

Good morning, wifey.

I had to leave for the office early since I have an urgent morning meeting. Please make sure you eat your breakfast, and only go to the office today if you feel completely okay.

Your Handsome hubby!

A bright chuckle escaped her lips as she refolded the note.

She leaned back comfortably, resting her spine against the soft headboard and gently placing her palm over her flat belly.

"Good morning, baby,"

she murmured in a cozy whisper, her thumb lightly tracing small circles over her stomach.

"And I'm so sorry I couldn't tell him again last night... but I promise I'll tell him today anyhow!

Also..."

She paused, a playful glint lighting up her eyes as a soft smirk bloomed across her face.

"...baby, you know what I was just thinking?

If your daddy takes care of me like a complete madman without even knowing about you...

then just imagine how much crazier he's going to be after he finds out!"

Jay burst out laughing at her own chaotic thoughts, the sound ringing softly through the quiet room.

Feeling much happier and lighter, she finished up her warm breakfast, freshened up, and finally made her way downstairs.

Jay headed downstairs, her steps light as she carried herself into the living area.

"Good morning, everyone!"

Jay chirped, trying her best to sound completely bright and cheerful.

All three heads-Mr. Watson, Mrs. Watson, and Sophia-turned instantly towards her in perfect unison.

Their eyes were glowing with intense hope, practically begging her to say she had finally told him last night.

But...

Jay just stood there on the landing and offered them the most sheepish, guilt-ridden smile ever, with a peace sign with her two fingers.

Facepalm!.

They shook their heads and executed a perfectly synchronized facepalm.

"I can't with this girl," Sophia groaned, throwing her hands up in the air while Mr. Watson just quietly chuckled into his coffee cup.

A few hours later...

"Drink this!"

Mrs. Watson said, setting a full glass of warm milk firmly onto the coffee table right in front of Jay.

Jay was currently slumping on the couch beside Sophia, who was completely absorbed in sketching new dress designs for her models' upcoming galas.

The moment Jay saw the glass, she flopped herself backward against the couch cushions like a lifeless dead body, waving her hands wildly in the air.

"No, Mom, no, please! I can't have it!"

Mrs. Watson raised a stern maternal eyebrow.

"What do you mean by 'no'?

It's healthy, now get up and have it."

"Mom! I literally just ate a whole bowl of fruits and drank juice five minutes ago!"

Jay whined, resting her arm over her eyes.

"That was healthy too!"

Mrs. Watson's expression softened into tender warmth as she sat down on the edge of the sofa.

"Baby, it's important for you and the baby... aren't you my princess?

Get up, have it."

Jay peeked out from under her arm, pouting deeply.

"But Mom... if you keep feeding me like this every five minutes, I'm damn sure I'll get a bump-and that won't be a baby bump, that'll be a fat bump!"

Both Mrs. Watson and Sophia instantly burst out laughing, the tension breaking completely.

"Jay, you are such a drama queen!"

Sophia wheezed, shaking her head as she picked up her sketchpad again.

Jay just pouted even harder, grumbling under her breath.

But despite all her dramatic protests,

Mrs. Watson gently helped her sit up, pick up the glass, and fed her every last drop of the warm milk like a beloved child.

...

Afternoon came, and Jay was once again found pacing back and forth in the lobby, her hands clutched tightly in front of her as pure nervousness consumed her.

Sitting nearby, Mrs. Watson and Sophia watched her like an audience watching a high-stakes drama unfold.

"Jay, stop pacing around, you'll get tired!"

Sophia scolded gently as she stood up, walked over, and forced Jay to sit down on the plush sofa.

"Anak, it's okay,"

Mrs. Watson said softly, sitting beside her and taking her cold, trembling hand into her warm ones.

"You can just tell him once he gets home tonight."

Jay took a long, deep breath, trying to force her racing heart to calm down.

She closed her eyes for a brief second, gathering every ounce of courage in her body.

When she opened them, she sat up completely straight, a fierce, determined look settling on her face.

"No, Mom..."

Jay declared firmly.

"I've promised baby that I'll tell his daddy today. I have to go."

The words had barely left her lips when Jay's brain finally caught up with what she had just said out loud.

A high-pitched giggle erupted from Sophia, and Mrs. Watson's face burst into the softest, most emotional smile.

Jay's entire face instantly turned a violent shade of deep red.

She squeaked, burying her hot face straight into her palms to hide from their teasing gazes.

"Mom...!"

Jay whined from behind her hands, her voice completely muffled as Sophia's laughter rang through the lobby.

"Oh, look at our tough little mommy!"

Sophia cooed, poking Jay's side playfully.

'I promised baby that I'll tell his daddy today!'

God, Jay, you're so cute I'm going to throw up!"

"Sophia, stop teasing her,"

Mrs. Watson chuckled, though her own eyes were sparkling with affection as she patted Jay's back.

"Go on then, my princess.

Go tell your husband he's going to be a father before you burst from all this secret-keeping."

Jay slowly peeked out from between her fingers, her cheeks still flaming hot, but a wide, unstoppable smile broke across her face.

She stood up, grabbed her handbag from the side table, and smoothed down her clothes.

...

Jay stood directly in front of the towering, glass-and-steel monolith that was Watson Enterprises.

And She was staring down at her own hand, which was resting flat against her stomach.

"Baby..."

she whispered, her voice barely carrying over the quiet hum of city traffic.

"Wish your mumma good luck. Your mumma is about to give your daddy a complete heart attack today."

She took a slow, deep breath and added,

"And baby... please, no crazy mood swings right now, okay?

Just let me get through this."

Smoothing down her pastel dress, she finally stepped through the heavy automatic glass doors.

The air inside was cool and smelled of expensive polished marble and fresh flowers.

The front desk receptionists immediately straightened up and offered her warm, respectful smiles, but Jay just gave them a quick wave, her heart beating like a trapped bird inside her chest.

She walked past the busy staff, her heels clicking softly against the floor, and stepped into the private executive elevator.

The ride up to the top floor felt like it took both two seconds and a hundred years.

When the elevator doors finally chimed open on the penthouse floor, the quiet was almost deafening.

Jay walked down the wide corridor, clutching her small shoulder bag tightly against her side.

She passed empty glass conference rooms and polished wooden pillars,

her steps growing slower and her breaths growing shallower until she finally found herself standing right in front of the heavy doors that led to Keifer's private office.

This was it.

No backing out now.

She swallowed hard, letting out a long, trembling exhale.

She reached out her hand, her fingers inching toward the sleek brass doorknob.

"Ma'am!"

Jay flinched hard, her heart practically jumping into her throat.

She snapped her head to the left and saw James, Keifer's P.A., jogging down the hall toward her with a stack of files tucked under his arm.

"Ma'am! Good afternoon, ma'am!"

James said, stopping right beside her and taking a quick breath.

Jay gave him a tight, polite nod, trying to hide how badly he had just scared her.

"Hi, James."

"Ma'am, actually, a very important meeting is going on right now,"

James explained, looking a little apologetic.

"Sir is inside with some major contractors.

Can you please wait for a little while?

But... if it's urgent, I can go inside and call him out right now?"

"Ah! No, it's... it's totally okay.

I'll wait," Jay said, offering him a warm smile.

But as the words left her mouth, something inside her stomach twisted tightly.

She felt like she was completely forcing that smile.

A tiny spike of irritation flared up in her chest.

Of course he's in a meeting.

Of course.

"Right this way, ma'am.

I'll show you to the VIP lounge,"

James said politely, gesturing down a side hallway.

He led her into a luxurious, quiet waiting room equipped with plush leather sofas, a glass coffee table, and a massive TV display.

He offered her coffee or tea, but Jay gently declined.

He bowed slightly and left, closing the heavy wooden door behind him.

Once she was alone, the silence in the room began to swallow her whole.

Five minutes passed.

Then ten.

Then fifteen.

Jay sat on the edge of the large leather sofa, her foot tapping wildly against the rug.

Her emotions were beginning to swirl into a chaotic storm.

One second she felt like crying out of pure nervousness, and the very next second she felt like kicking the coffee table across the room.

"Baby, please..."

Jay muttered aloud to the empty lounge, digging her fingernails into the side of the sofa armrest and scratching at the leather like a frustrated witch.

"I told you, no mood swings please, baby!

Just not today... Just let me tell your daddy once,

and then we'll deal with him together, I promise."

She kept her eyes glued to the sleek wall clock.

Twenty minutes.

Twenty-five minutes.

Thirty-five minutes.

Just as Jay felt like she was genuinely about to lose her mind and march right into that conference room herself, the heavy lounge door swung open with a sudden whoosh.

"Jay...!"

Keifer called out her name, practically running into the room.

He looked slightly disheveled, his suit jacket unbuttoned and his dark hair slightly messy, as if he had sprinted the second his meeting ended.

Jay stood up from the sofa, swallowing her bubbling frustration and forcing the sweetest smile she could manage.

The moment Keifer covered the distance between them, he wrapped his long, broad arms tightly around her waist, pulling her flush against his chest.

He let out a long, exhausted sigh into her hair.

"I'm so sorry, sunshine,"

he murmured, his deep voice vibrating against her shoulder.

"The meeting just went on way longer than expected... I had no idea you were sitting here waiting for me!

James only told me after everyone left."

He pulled back just enough to press a soft, lingering kiss right onto her forehead.

The gentle warmth of his touch immediately washed over her like a warm blanket.

All her anger, her impatience, and her crazy mood swings instantly evaporated.

Jay melted right into his broad chest, a small, genuine smile blooming across her face.

"It's okay, Keifer," she said softly, wrapping her arms around his waist.

"Really, it's fine."

Keifer pulled back, looking down at her with those dark, intense eyes of his.

A familiar, handsome smirk slowly spread across his lips.

"Okay, but what are you doing here?"

he asked teasingly, raising an eyebrow.

"Do you have some official work with the CEO, or were you just missing me that much?"

Jay looked up at him, her eyes sparkling with a mischievous glint.

"Umm... maybe I was just missing you,"

she replied playfully, tilting her head.

"Is that so?"

Keifer chuckled softly.

"Come here."

He wrapped one heavy arm over her shoulders, guiding her back toward the plush couch.

They sat down side by side, so close that their knees were touching.

Keifer turned his body toward her, his eyes filled with pure affection.

He reached out his hand, just about to lace his fingers through hers, when-

Buzz.

Buzz.

The loud, sharp vibration of a phone shattered the sweet atmosphere.

Keifer pulled his phone out from his pocket.

James's name was flashing bright across the screen.

Keifer let out an annoyed sigh and reached his thumb toward the red button to cut the call off immediately.

But Jay quickly reached out and tapped his arm, shaking her head and signaling for him to just take it.

Keifer looked at her with an apologetic expression.

He held up his thumb and index finger just a millimeter apart

-gesturing a silent "give me just one minute, please"-

and pressed the phone to his ear.

"Yeah, James?"

Keifer said into the receiver.

He leaned over, opened his sleek black laptop on the coffee table, and immediately started typing.

While his attention was completely divided, Jay sat there watching him.

His sharp jawline, his focused brow, the way his fingers moved over the keyboard...

He was busy, but she knew if she waited for the 'perfect' moment, it would never come.

This is it, Jay thought.

It's now or never.

She took a deep, shaky inhale and closed her eyes tight.

She dropped her head slightly, staring down at her lap as her fingers twisted together in her dress fabric.

Her heart was pounding so loudly in her ears that she could barely hear the sound of his fast typing.

"Kief...!"

she began, her voice soft and trembling with intense emotion.

"I... I want to tell you something very important..."

Jay swallowed the lump in her throat, tears instantly welling up behind her closed eyelids.

"I don't know how you're going to react...

but I have a surprise for you.

Not just for you... but honestly, for myself too."

A single, hot tear escaped her eye and slipped down her flushed cheek, but a beautiful, radiant smile broke across her lips.

"You know what...?"

she continued, her voice thick with happy tears.

"The doctor came to the house yesterday morning... and you know what she said?"

She quickly raised her hand to wipe the tear away, her heart practically bursting out of her chest as she prepared to say the words that would change their lives forever.

"She said... I... I'm... pregnant,"

Jay choked out, a soft, tearful chuckle escaping her throat.

"You are going to be a dad... and

I'm going to be a mom."

She finished the sentence, her entire body shaking with pure, overwhelming joy and relief.

She had finally said it.

The secret was out.

Slowly, agonizingly slowly, Jay opened her eyes, fully expecting to see Keifer frozen in shock, or crying, or staring at her with wide, breathless eyes.

Instead...

What the hell?!

Keifer was sitting right beside

her, his face completely blank, his dark eyes still glued to his laptop screen as his fingers clicked away rapidly on the keyboard.

He hadn't moved an inch.

He hadn't blinked.

He looked completely and utterly unaffected by her emotional declaration.

Jay narrowed her eyes in pure disbelief, her jaw dropping open.

Is he serious?!

Is he really trying to act cool right now?!

She leaned closer to glare at the side of his face, ready to scream at him for being a emotionless robot... but then, her eyes caught something tiny and sleek sticking out of his left ear.

A small, white, wireless earbud.

Jay stared at it.

Then she looked at his other ear.

Another white earbud.

"Ughhhhh... what the hell?!"

Jay groaned, flopping her entire body backward into the sofa cushions like a defeated ragdoll.

She covered her burning face with both hands, wanting the ground to swallow her whole.

That sudden, dramatic flop by Jay made Keifer instantly snap his head toward her in total confusion.

He tapped his earbud to end the call, yanking the tiny white device from his ear and tossing it onto the coffee table.

"Jay, what happened?"

Even she didn't know why, but really this time it was hella hard to control.

The wave of pregnancy hormones was rushing through her veins like an unstoppable hurricane, frying every single wire of logic in her brain.

She turned her face toward him and gave him the fakest, sweetest smile possible, slowly tilting her head like an absolute witch.

The terrifyingly unhinged expression scared the absolute life out of him.

She bit her lower lip hard, closing her eyes for a long, shaky inhale, trying with everything in her to keep her cool.

She opened her eyes, her gaze cold as ice.

"Keifer... I think... I should go,"

she said trying to force a smile.

She avoided his eyes completely as she made a move to stand up from the leather sofa.

She knew if he pushed her even a little bit more, she was going to burst her crazy mood swings all over him for sure.

"But Jay-"

He instantly caught her wrist, his grip warm and protective.

"Keifer... leave me,"

she said, her back still turned to him.

"Jay, but-"

Before he could even complete his sentence, she whipped around on her heel,

pointed her index finger straight at his face, and leaned in so close in a split second that Keifer had to lean all the way back in pure, instinctual fear.

His dark eyes went wide as saucers, staring at his completely terrifying wife.

"I'm telling you..."

She leaned in even closer, locking him into a dangerous, icy eye contact that made him gulp hard against his collar.

"...LET.

ME.

GO."

She exhaled sharply, spinning on her heel to leave.

She was just a single step away from the sofa when Keifer scrambled out of his seat, ran after her, and caught the strap of her shoulder purse.

"Jay, please, sunshine, listen to me!"

he pleaded, genuine panic rising in his deep voice.

"Tell me what happened!

Did I do something wrong?

Why are you angry?!"

"Keifer, leave me,"

she said in a dangerously low, serious tone.

"No, first tell me what happened! Is there a problem!"

That was it.

The final straw snapped.

She grit her teeth, grabbed her heavy leather purse with both hands, and threw it with all her strength-hitting him directly in the center of his chest.

THUMP!

"YOU ARE MY PROBLEM!"

she yelled at the top of her lungs.

Deep down inside her heart, she was fully aware that she was wrong to yell at him like this, but she literally couldn't stop the furious words spilling out of her mouth.

"I literally gave you the most emotional, beautiful speech ever existing in the universe, and you were here just talking to that assistant of yours!"

she shouted, the sheer force of her voice making Keifer actually flinch and take a big step back.

In their last four years of marriage, he had never, ever seen her this blind with rage.

"Sunshine... sweetheart... I... I'm really, really sorry, I just-"

"What 'I just', huh?!"

she cut him off, tears of pure, unadulterated frustration instantly filling her eyes.

"Why the hell did you even marry me if you don't have time for me?!

Just do one thing... go and marry your James, okay?!"

A hot, heavy tear slipped down her flushed, angry cheek.

She aggressively wiped it away with the back of her hand, glaring at him through her blurry vision.

"You know what...? Fuck you."

She shouted it out like an absolute baddie, wiping another stubborn tear from her eye.

"Jay-"

SLAM!

Before he could utter another single syllable,

she slammed the VIP lounge door so hard the heavy glass frame rattled in its sockets.

She turned on her heel and sprinted down the executive corridor, her heels clicking loudly against the floor as she rushed straight toward the private parking lot.

Back in the VIP lounge, the silence fell like a ton of bricks.

Keifer just stood there, frozen like a statue, staring blankly at the slammed door for five whole seconds.

"What did I do...?"

he muttered to himself, his head spinning in total, helpless confusion.

He slowly catch his own lost, utterly clueless reflection in the mirror.

"Did I really mess up?"

he asked his reflection.

He blinked once.

Twice.

"I think yes, you idiot!"

he panicked aloud, finally snapping out of his trance.

Keifer turned around and sprinted out of the lounge after her like his life depended on it.

He burst through the double glass doors leading into the executive parking zone, his suit jacket flapping in the wind.

"Jay! Sunshine, wait!"

he yelled, out of breath.

But before he could even reach the pavement, Jay was already locked inside her car.

She slammed her foot down onto the accelerator,

the powerful engine roaring to life as the car shot forward, leaving a thick cloud of tire smoke and a completely terrified husband standing all alone in the parking lot.

Tears blurred her vision as she flew past traffic, her heart pounding against her ribs like a trapped bird.

"Stupid Keifer!

Stupid earbuds!

Stupid corporate meetings!"

she yelled into the empty car, aggressively wiping her damp cheeks with her sleeve.

"Marry James then! See if James gives you a baby!"

Then, a sudden, brutal wave of guilt crashed over her.

Her foot eased off the gas pedal just a fraction.

Her hands began to tremble on the leather wheel as her own harsh words echoed in her ears.

Did I really just tell my husband 'fuck you'?

Jay thought, her jaw dropping in absolute horror as the anger evaporated, leaving behind a pool of pure regret.

Did I throw my heavy purse at his chest?

Did I tell him to marry his assistant?!

What is wrong with me?!

The pregnancy hormones were completely hijacking her brain-one second turning her into a fire-breathing villain, and the next breaking her down into a sobbing mess.

By the time she pulled into the driveway of the Watson mansion, she was weeping hysterically.

She parked the car haphazardly, shoved the door open, and sprinted straight inside.

Mrs. Watson and Sophia were sitting in the living room, peacefully sipping tea, when Jay burst past them like a mini storm cloud.

"Jay? Darling, what happened?!"

Mrs. Watson gasped, nearly dropping her teacup.

"Jay!"

Sophia shouted, springing off the couch.

Jay didn't stop to explain.

She ran straight up the grand staircase, burst into the master bedroom,

slammed the heavy door, locked it from the inside, and threw herself face-first onto the massive bed, burying her face into a pile of plush pillows.

Mrs. Watson and Sophia exchanged a quick, panicked look, completely startled by Jay's tearful entrance.

But before either of them could even get up from the couch to go after her, the front doors burst open.

Keifer sprinted into the house, looking like he had just run an actual marathon.

His dark hair was a total mess, his suit jacket was half off his shoulders, and his chest was heaving as he tried to catch his breath.

"Jay?!"

he choked out, looking around the living room wildly.

"Mom... where is she?!"

"What on earth happened, Keifer?

Why is she crying like that?"

his mom asked, stepping forward with her brows furrowed in deep concern.

Keifer's heart dropped straight into his stomach.

"She's crying?!"

he asked, pure panic lacing his voice.

She and Sophia exchanged another meaningful glance.

"Mood swings..."

Sophia muttered under her breath, a light bulb going off in her head as she put two and two together.

"What?"

Keifer asked, catching his sister's whisper but instantly brushing it off.

Figuring out what Sophia meant wasn't the priority right now-

reaching his wife was the only thing that mattered.

Ignoring their confused faces, Keifer turned on his heel and bounded up the stairs three at a time, heading straight for their bedroom door.

He reached the top of the stairs, his chest heaving as he sprinted down the silent hallway.

He grabbed the brass handle of their bedroom door, fully expecting it to be locked tight from the inside.

To his relief, the handle yielded.

Jay hadn't locked it.

He pushed the door open and stepped inside, only to freeze dead in his tracks.

The room was in complete disarray.

Throw pillows were scattered across the carpet, a paperback book lay sprawling near the nightstand, and Jay was standing near the foot of the bed, her chest rising and falling heavily as a fresh tear trailed down her flushed cheek.

The moment her dark eyes locked onto him, her anger flared back to life.

"Get out!"

Jay shouted, grabbing a plush decorative cushion from the mattress and chucking it straight at him.

Keifer didn't even bother dodging it.

The soft cushion hit him square in the chest and dropped harmlessly to the floor.

"Jay, sunshine, please just listen to me-"

"No! You get out!"

she cried out, her voice breaking as she grabbed a small notepad off her dresser and threw that at him too.

"I hate you, Keifer Watson! You are literally the worst!"

Keifer took slow, cautious steps toward her, completely unbothered by the objects flying his way.

"Sunshine, calm down, please..."

"Don't tell me to calm down!"

Jay snapped, but as soon as the words left her mouth, her strength completely gave out.

The intense rage vanished in an instant, replaced by a wave of pure, overwhelming distress.

Her lower lip began to tremble violently, and the floodgates broke.

Fresh, heavy tears streamed down her cheeks as she covered her face with both hands, her shoulders shaking with quiet, heartbreaking sobs.

The second Keifer saw her crying behind her hands, he didn't wait another fraction of a second.

He closed the distance between them instantly and pulled her straight into a tight, desperate hug.

He wrapped his long, broad arms completely around her trembling frame, tucking her flushed body flush against his chest.

"I'm sorry, sunshine,"

Keifer whispered desperately into her hair, holding her like she was made of fragile glass.

"I am so, so sorry. It was entirely my fault.

I'm a complete idiot, I swear to God I am."

Jay didn't push him away.

She buried her wet face into his chest, her fingers clutching his rumpled shirt collar as the sobs continued to pour out of her.

"I'm so sorry..."

Jay wept bitterly into his chest, her voice thick and broken.

"I'm sorry...I shouldn't have yelled at you like that...but...I swear I di... didn't mean it....it...it just happened"

"Jay, no, hey, don't apologize-"

"But it's still your fault!"

she sobbed through her tears, pulling back just enough to look up at him with red, swollen eyes.

"It is entirely your fault! Why were you wearing those stupid white earbuds in the first place?!

She cried as she cling to him again, pressing her face in his neck.

"I know, I know!

It was completely my mistake, I swear!"

Keifer pleaded, gently wiping the tears from her cheeks with his thumbs.

Without breaking the hug for even a single second, Keifer effortlessly scooped her up into his arms, lifting her off her feet while keeping her wrapped securely against his chest.

He walked over to the velvet sofa, sat down, and settled her directly into his lap without ever letting go.

She curled right up against him, resting her head in the crook of his neck while his arms remained firmly wrapped around her waist.

He held her close, one hand gently rubbing comforting circles over her back as her quiet hiccups slowly began to fade against the warm, steady beat of his heart.

They stayed frozen in that same tight embrace for several minutes.

The room was completely silent except for the faint sound of Jay's shaky breaths and the quiet hum of the air conditioner.

Keifer kept his arms locked around her waist, refusing to let even an inch of space come between them while she remained curled up in his lap, her face still buried deep in his shoulder.

"I'm sorry..."

Jay muttered again, her voice muffled against his shirt, her fingers still loosely clutching his collar.

"I really shouldn't have done that!."

Keifer's heart squeezed at her small, fragile voice.

He gently shifted her in his lap, his broad hands moving up to clasp her arms.

Slowly, tenderly, he pulled her face back just enough so he could look at her.

He cupped her flushed cheeks with both of his warm palms, his long thumbs softly sweeping away the stray tears still clinging to her lashes.

He leaned in close, his dark eyes searching hers with pure devotion and concern.

He press a soft kiss at her temple.

"Hey... stop apologizing, sunshine,"

Keifer murmured, his voice as soft as velvet.

"Look at me."

Jay sniffled, blinking her glossy, red-rimmed eyes to look at him.

"I don't care about the purse, and I definitely don't care about you yelling at me,"

Keifer said softly, brushing another stray hair behind her ear.

"You can throw ten purses at my chest if it makes you feel better. But please... just tell me what's going on."

He brought his forehead against hers for a fleeting second before pulling back slightly, his thumbs resting over her cheekbones.

"Why were you crying at the office?

What happened, Jay?"

Keifer asked softly, his eyes brimming with pure confusion and gentle worry.

"What were you trying to tell me before all of this?"

She looked down the second he asked that, her cheeks instantly turning a soft shade of pink.

She bit her lower lip hard, trying her best to control the small, irrepressible smile that was creeping onto her face.

"Keifer, it's..."

She slowly began to unlock his large hands from around her waist, though he unconsciously tried to hold on even tighter, reluctant to let her go for even a fraction of a second.

She carefully stepped off his lap and set her feet on the floor, standing right in front of him.

Keifer stared up at her from the sofa, looking completely bewildered by her sudden shift in energy.

"I... I want to introduce you to someone,"

she said softly, a gentle smile

gracing her lips.

"Huh?"

Keifer looked at her in pure shock, his heart hammering against his ribs in fast, erratic beats as his brain struggled to make sense of anything she was saying.

Jay took a deep inhale, gathering every ounce of courage left in her body.

She slowly looked down at him-taking in his deeply confused eyes, his tense jaw, and then finally looking at his broad hand resting on his knee.

She reached out, gathering his hand into both of her palms.

She brought his heavy hand up to her lips, pressing a soft, lingering kiss right against his knuckles.

Keifer just stared at her with parted lips, his face frozen in complete disbelief and total astonishment.

"I hope you'll be happy to get introduced to that someone..."

she whispered, closing her eyes tight for a brief moment.

He couldn't understand anything.

He was desperately searching

her face for any clue, totally lost.

Looking at her like this, he couldn't stop himself-he pushed himself up from the sofa, standing tall and looking down at her with a racing pulse.

Jay opened her eyes, tilted her head back, and looked up at him, giving him the most honest, radiant smile he had ever seen in his entire life.

And then, finally, she guided his broad palm down toward her lower body, placing his warm hand gently flat against her belly.

"Baby... say hey to your daddy,"

she said softly, her eyes locked onto her belly and his broad hand resting over it.

Keifer's breath hitched instantly.

His chest ceased moving as his breathing became heavy, freezing dead in his tracks.

Every single thought in his mind ground to a screeching halt.

The powerful CEO who always had an immediate answer for everything was completely paralyzed-

his body locked in place, his dark eyes glued to her flat belly like he was looking at the most impossible miracle in the universe.

He didn't blink, he didn't move a single muscle, and for a terrifying second, he forgot how to speak altogether.

The warmth of her skin beneath his broad palm was the only thing anchoring him to reality as his entire world flipped on its axis.

Jay looked up at his completely frozen, speechless face, smiling warmly as the absolute truth slowly began to sink into his mind.

Keifer didn't react right away.

He couldn't.

His entire body seemed to shut down under the weight of her words, every ounce of his usual corporate composure dissolving into dust.

Slowly, as if in a complete daze, he sank down onto his knees directly in front of her.

His hands trembled as he raised his second palm, placing it right alongside the first-framing her flat belly between his broad, shaking hands.

He tilted his head back, looking up at her with dark, glossy eyes that desperately searched hers.

He parted his lips, trying to speak, but no sound came out. His throat tightened painfully, choked by a wave of pure, overwhelming emotion.

"Jay..."

he rasped, his voice breaking into a fragile whisper.

"Baby...? Ou... our baby...?"

The moment the words finally left his mouth, a single, heavy tear broke free, slipping down his sharp jawline.

Jay looked down at him, her own vision blurring as fresh tears filled her eyes.

A radiant, tearful smile spread across her lips as she nodded softly.

"Yes... our baby,"

she whispered, her voice overflowing with love.

A breathless, disbelieving chuckle spilled from Keifer's lips, but as it did, the floodgates broke completely.

Tears fell uncontrollably down his face.

It..., he sob,

It means.... you are..., a sob again lip his lips before he could complete that.

Yes...it means I'm pregnant!

She completed the sentence as tears slipped down her cheeks.

That was it.

He leaned forward and wrapped his broad arms tightly around her waist, burying his face directly into her soft belly, sobbing like he had never sobbed in his life.

The powerful man was entirely unraveled, clinging to her as if she were holding his whole world.

Heartbreakingly touched, Jay bent down to his level, sinking down onto her knees on the soft carpet to meet him face-to-face.

She reached out and cupped his warm, wet cheeks in her palms, lifting his gaze to hers.

Even through their tears, both of them couldn't stop the tender, radiant smiles breaking across their faces.

Keifer leaned in, gently resting his forehead against hers.

They stayed like that for a long beat, their heavy breaths mingling, just breathing each other in as the weight of the news settled over them.

Slowly, Keifer shifted slightly, pulling his forehead back just enough to lean in and adjust his wet, tear-stained cheek directly against hers.

He closed his eyes, soaking in the soothing warmth of her skin.

He brought his hands up to tenderly cup her face.

Pulling back to look at her, he leaned in and pressed a long, reverent kiss right onto her forehead.

When he pulled back again, he couldn't resist-he leaned in once more and gave her a soft, sweet peck on the lips.

The lingering touch made both of them break into a soft, tearful chuckle,

their foreheads coming back together as they held each other close in the middle of the room.
