Evelyn
After the long decision and convincing them, my parents finally let me go. But tension radiated from them, like heat from fire.
I pushed open the hall door. Damian's familiar strong smell reached my nostrils, already weakening me.
He leaned against the wall, damn fucking hot. His eyes locked with mine. Then he smirked.
"So my little wolf, are you ready? I hope you didn't change your decision." His eyes suddenly became more red.
Little wolf. Eva purred at the stupid endearment. He gave me a pet name, Evelyn. She practically ran a marathon in my head. She was gone. Everything he did, she found it sexy. Even if he just took oxygen.
I nodded. His eyes returned to normal. Dad took steps toward him. "Only six months, King Damian. After six months my daughter came home no matter what. And don't hurt my princess. If anything happens to her, trust me, I would not leave you alive. I'll wage war against you."
Oh no. Dad threatened him.
"Watch your tone, Alpha Samuel. I am your king now, don't forget that." Damian's voice was dangerous, raging with anger.
He didn't like my father's tone.
"Nothing will happen to Evelyn. I assure you, she is my responsibility now." He told my father possessively, but his face was void of any emotion.
His responsibility?.
"Jacob." He called his second in command, but his eyes still stayed on me. "Is the car ready?"
"Yes, my lord." Jacob bowed to him and went outside. But he looked at me with an annoyed face, like he didn't like his king wanting to take me to their kingdom.
Damian came closer to me. I took a deep breath.
"Let's go, little wolf."
"Umm, can I take my clothes and other important things?"
"You don't need those old things. Once we reach my castle, you'll get everything you need."
I narrowed my eyes on him. "No. I need my things. I'm very possessive about my things."
I denied his offering and crossed my arms on my chest.
His eyes flicked to my chest. Then it turned red.
I followed his gaze. Shit. My boobs looked slightly bigger. I uncrossed my arms and cleared my throat.
"Is that so?" His voice was surprisingly low. "Tom." He called another vampire. "Go to Lady Evelyn's house and take everything from her room."
My eyes widened. "No. Don't you dare." But the vampire vanished from my sight in the blink of an eye. Damn their speed.
But how did he know where my house was? And my room?
"You are very demanding, little wolf. I already agreed with your so many wishes. Now say goodbye to your parents. We have to reach the castle as soon as possible."
I went to my parents, with a heavy heart. They both looked like they still weren't convinced.
"Evelyn, dear, are you sure?"
"Yes, Mom. I won't be in danger. If I feel like I am, I'll let you know. I promise, Dad."
He nodded, but the tension lines were visible on his face. I hugged them lovingly. My eyes filled with tears. Mom was crying too.
This was the first time I was going this far without them. It was really painful.
I wiped my tears and smiled. "Believe me, I'm not just a girl. I'm an alpha female. I'll come back to you."
After the tense goodbye to my parents, I came outside. I didn't let them come with me. I knew if I saw them again, I couldn't go, nor would they let me go.
A black car was parked a little far away. It looked quite old. A big D logo was written on it.
"This is my car," Damian said.
When did he even come out here?
I thought he was still inside.I opened the door and sat on the backseat.
"I'm not your driver, little wolf. Come to the front seat." Damian demanded.
God. I deliberately sat on the backseat. It was too difficult for me to sit this close with him. My emotions were all over the place and my heart, fuck it skipped too many beats.
I moved to the front seat. Damian sat in the driver's seat. Just as I was thinking, his scent abused my sanity, demanding me to fill myself with his smell as much as I could.
"Do you know how to drive?" I asked softly.
Shit. It sounded more like a sultry question.
He cracked his neck to the side, then turned to me. His eyes turned red. Was he angry at my question?
"I know how to drive, little wolf. I'm a master at many things." His eyes flicked to my chest for a few seconds. "You'll know in the future."
Eva showed me stupid sexy images of what scenarios could happen in the future. Heat crept on my cheeks.
"When your eyes turn red, umm, does it mean you're angry?"
I dared to ask, but he didn't reply.
I huffed. He ignored half of my questions.
"My castle is only fifteen minutes away from this place."
My eyes widened. "What? Fifteen minutes? But I heard Shadow Land is at least four hours from here."
He smirked. "Yeah, only for car speed and wolf speed. Those two things have very low speed. I was talking about vampire speed. We'll hardly take fifteen minutes. We're not slow, little wolf."
I growled slowly at that insult.
He chuckled. "Why are you getting angry? Wolves are slow. Is it not true?"
I didn't say anything.
He started driving the car. I closed my eyes.
Suddenly reality hit me. I was going to a place I didn't know. What kind of danger was looming over me when I reached that place? And the worst part? I was alone there.
Our mate is there, Evelyn. Nothing will happen to us. I'm sure Damian won't let anything happen that could hurt us. Eva said confidently.
I didn't know what would happen in the future. But I wasn't backing off. I would do whatever was beneficial for innocent people.
The drive blurred. The more we closed our final destination, the faster my heart beat.
"Relax, little wolf. Your heart is quite noisy, take a deep breath."
I didn't say anything, It is easy to say.
Soon the car reached our final destination, and parked at the front of a big old castle. It seemed like this had been standing for many centuries.
This was the first time I'd seen a castle. I opened the door and stepped out of the car.
The place was dark. Gloomy. It gave off a depressed vibe.
My confidence wavered.
Dark fog was all over the place. It seemed like a haunted place.
"Welcome to Shadow Land, little wolf," Damian said.
I took a deep breath. My wolf stirred inside me, unsure if she should be excited or terrified. Maybe both.
