Evelyn
Great, just great. It had already been two days and the devil still hadn't shown his handsome face. What could it be? It shouldn't take this much time, as a vampire he was blessed with great speed, he hardly took ten to twenty minutes to reach anywhere.
I wished I knew what he was doing and where he was.
I sighed. I could do nothing but sit here and wait for him. I even asked my father if there was any information regarding Damian or any surprise attack or something.
I was sure he didn't go after my pack. He promised me and as a king he would keep his promise, besides this I trust him.
'We should go to find him'. Eva's worried voice pulled me out of my thoughts.
'Do you know where he is, Eva?'
'No,' she grumbled.
'Exactly. We don't know, so how could we? We can only wait for him.'
I had asked Catherine about it but she just told me he had some old enemy he went after. I asked her more but she changed the topic like she didn't want to tell me.
"Did you feel about going to the human world?" I asked Catherine softly, as this topic was sensitive for her.
She shook her head. "No, I didn't."
"How old are you?" I asked her out of nowhere.
"One century old," she said, like it was a very normal thing to say.
I choked. "Wait — one century old?" She shrugged. "And what about Damian's age?"
"Oh, Damian… I think he is around 150 years old."
Oh Goddess. My eyes widened. I couldn't believe they had such long lives.
'Did you hear that, Eva? Damian is older than our great grandfather.
'Old is gold', Eva purred. How could I forget, for her, everything about Damian was hot.
I told Catherine I would skip today's training. I was already feeling low by early afternoon because I had yet to get Damian glucose. I was about to leave when I collided with someone.
Shit!
"Oh, I'm sorry," I said, steadying myself.
I heard a hissed sound. My eyes went to the person I'd just had a small accident with, it was Jacob, glaring at me. He threw me another nasty glare and walked out. Why did he hate me that much? Well, I didn't care.
Wait. He had also gone with Damian. He came back, which meant Damian also came back.
Without thinking, I ran toward Damian's room and opened the door without knocking.
There he was. A familiar warmth and his scent filled the room. His sight brought me immense peace, Goddess knew how I had been living without his presence, what I had become. I felt hollow in my chest.
His back was facing me. At the sudden opening of the door, he turned around, and he was about to remove his coat, which was painted with blood.
Seeing blood on his clothes scared me. Is this his blood? I rushed to him. "Are you hurt?" My voice was laced with worry.
He shook his head. I sighed, thank Goddess he was fine. He didn't say anything, just stared at me like he wanted to memorize every detail of my face forever.
He jerked off his coat, his eyes turned red, and without a word he engulfed me tightly. My eyes closed too, almost melted into him. I hugged him back, though I could barely reach around him, he was so tall and broad. I had to stand on my toes and still couldn't hug him properly while he took me in whole.
I filled my lungs with his cold coffee smell and noticed he did the same.
We broke the hug. He stared at me, then a smirk tugged at his mouth.
"Are you missing me that much, little wolf?"
Shit, I blushed. The way I had run toward him made it very clear I had been waiting for him. I was about to step back but he didn't let me. I was still in his arms.
I cleared my throat. "Of course I was missing my teacher," I lied.
He chuckled. "Is that so?"I nodded.
"But I was missing you like crazy," he said and kissed my cheek.
"Who told you? I returned", he asked.
"No one," I shrugged. "But I saw Jacob so I thought you also—"
"Don't." Before I could finish he stopped me, his tone laced with warning, his hold tightening on my waist.
"What don't?" I asked.
"I hate hearing any other man's name from your pretty mouth. You won't take any man's name from now on," he declared.
I narrowed my eyes. "Excuse me?"
He didn't say anything, just picked up his clothes and walked into his bathroom.
Wow. So now he was giving me orders too.
'Our man is possessive. He doesn't like to hear any man's name. Don't you get it, Evelyn'?
'Oh really? What about him, didn't he once call Molly that day in the king's courtroom'? I asked Eva.
'He was calling her', she replied.
I ignored her and went back to my room, feeling happy he had returned.
In the evening Damian came to my room. "Let's go for training," he said, like he hadn't just threatened me about taking men's names.
"I'm skipping today," I shook my head.
"You're tired today."
"I'm not tired, little wolf."
"Umm, okay but still, I don't want to, not in the mood."
"Are you okay?"
I nodded. "Yes."
He sat on my bed, just staring at me. "Umm… where were you?" I finally asked.
"I went after my enemy but he ran. I have yet to find him." He only said that much. He was quiet for a moment, then rose from his seat and came closer. I was sitting on the left side of my bed. He sat beside me and pulled me into his lap like I weighed nothing.
I screamed lightly. "Damn you, how can you treat me like a small child?"
"Child.. no. But small.. yes," he said smugly.
"Hey! I am not small, it's you who is a giant," I said, killing my blush.
He just chuckled. I gulped as he buried his head into the crook of my neck. We sat like that for some time, but when my stomach made a hungry noise he took me to the dining table. Me and Eva happily ate our dinner since he was there to give us company.
When we were done he stood, said goodnight, and was gone.
I came back to my room. Why didn't he come with us like he usually does lately?
After pondering over this I lay on my bed.
'It's because of you, Evelyn. You've been ignoring our mate till now. You should claim him, his neck is bare without our mark and it's making me uncomfortable', Eva said possessively.
'What do you want me to do?' I asked her.
'You know what, you don't need to do anything, it is me who will do it', she said, more serious this time.
Before I understood her meaning she was already taking over my senses. My eyes widened as realisation struck me. Damn, she would control my human brain and shut me off completely. I would never know what she did, even if she marked or mated with Damian.
'No Eva, please don't!'
The darkness was already taking over. My brain was shutting off completely no matter how much I tried to stop it.
'Eva, don't go to Damian and do something stupid that will make me embarrassed.
But she was already taking over, ohh Goddess what would she do, then everything went black.
