(Sapphire's POV)
I stared at him as he walked in like he owned the place, but as soon as he saw Damian standing right behind me, he paused.
"Damian. How's my favorite son in-law doing today?" He asked with a sickening smile on his face.
"If you keep trying to smile so hard, the vessels on your face will tear, Victor." Damian replied without a trace of a smile.
I giggled.
"Something funny, daughter?" He snapped at me.
"Yes, father. What my husband said was totally hilarious." I replied and laughed harder.
Damian chuckled and pulled me closer to him.
"You…!" Mr Montgomery began to say something to me, but Damian wasn't having it.
"I have warned you before, Victor, my wife is not to be treated like a child in her own home. Now, tell us why you decided to come visit without an invitation." His voice had turned to ice.
"Ahem!" My father adjusted. "Aw, come on Damian. Why do you hate me so much? I'm just here to check on my daughter and to see how she's doing."
