All the people couldn't help but giggle. Even though Silas joined in, something about it stung. In a way, he got offended.
Talk of the devil and he'll appear. As the giggling continued, Beat walked in. She didn't say a word and only moved to occupy a seat. She got a fresh plate, served and started eating in peace, not minding the rest, like she was the only person in the room.
"Mom, I need some pineapple juice. Could you make me some?" Beatris said.
"There she goes." Emily scoffed. "If you want juice, go make it yourself."
Beatris looked around the table with her disappointed look, her face flushing red when she noticed everyone. All eyes were on her.
"What's wrong? Why is everyone looking at me like that?" She asked before brushing them off as she continued with her food.
"Mom?" Beatris called out yet again. "The juice?" She said before turning to Saddie.
"Smalls, when did you get back?" She then turned to Kayla, "And you, when?"
"Today morning."
