Heavy bass rolled through the night air, vibrating through the pavement as flashing lights painted the entrance in shifting colors. The club was packed, just like every other night, people lined up outside, dressed to be seen, voices rising in excitement and impatience.
At the center of it all, a long queue stretched from the entrance, bodies pressed together, each person waiting their turn.
Then Tom arrived. He didn't slow down as he walked passed the queue.
With his hands tucked casually into his pockets, he walked straight past the line, his expression calm, almost bored. Conversations paused as people noticed, their eyes following him.
"Hey! There's a line!" someone shouted.
Another scoffed. "Who does he think he is?"
Tom didn't respond. He didn't even glance back.
The complaints faded behind him as he approached the entrance. Two bouncers stood at the door, their presence enough to keep order. The moment they saw him, their posture shifted.
