Samuel didn't look away. If anything, he leaned in too. "Have I?" he shot back. "Or are you just uncomfortable because someone finally said it to your face?"
Fionn's jaw tightened, his fingers curling against the table as his patience thinned. "You don't know what you're talking about."
Samuel scoffed, shaking his head. "I know enough. Enough to see that you've dragged her into something she doesn't belong in." His eyes hardened. "You call yourself her husband, but you don't even care that the fact you're her puts her in harm's way."
"And you think you can keep her safe?" Fionn snapped back, his voice rising slightly now.
