Before dark, the Ford Explorer pulled into the parking lot of a motel.
Anna turned off the engine and parked. Olivia turned to Shane: "Are you sure we're staying here tonight? A motel? You're acting very strange today. First, you inexplicably turned into a paper man, then you acknowledged my ninja status and gave me a forehead protector. Now you want to stay in a motel? Honey, are you in some kind of trouble, or... are you out of money?"
"It is easy to go from frugality to luxury, but difficult to go from luxury to frugality. What's wrong with a motel? As long as it attracts me, I can live in a dilapidated house in the wilderness." Shane put on an act of criticizing her. After getting out of the car, his gaze fell on a black Chevy Impala in the parking lot, and the corners of his mouth curled up.
"So, what's here?"
Olivia, who got out after him, looked around, then turned to Anna, who was taking luggage out of the car. "Do you sense anything?"
Anna shook her head. It looked like an ordinary motel.
They entered the motel and booked three adjacent rooms. Shane activated his Byakugan to scan the entire motel and quickly found the owners of the Impala. One was sitting at a table looking through materials about the plane crash; the other was sitting on a bed, also looking through materials placed on the adjacent bed. These two were none other than the Winchester brothers.
"Get some food and send it to that room." Shane pointed to a certain room down the hallway and gave instructions, then walked towards it.
"You put the stuff away. I'll go buy food." Olivia greeted Anna, then turned and left.
Inside the room, Sam, sitting at the table, said, "Every culture in the world has a concept of demons and demonic possession in its religion, right? Like Christianity, Native American beliefs, Hinduism... any name you can call out."
"But none of them describe anything like this," Dean said.
"That's not true. According to Japanese legends, demons are behind disasters, manipulating them. Whether natural or man-made disasters—some causing earthquakes, some causing diseases." Sam shook his head in rebuttal.
Dean was unimpressed. "So, this demon caused the plane crash?"
Sam sighed helplessly, not knowing how to persuade his stubborn brother.
At this moment, a voice suddenly rang out in the room.
"It was indeed a demon that caused the plane crash."
"Who?!"
The sudden voice made Dean and Sam jump up in horror instantly. After seeing who it was, one brother relaxed while the other was shocked.
Shane slowly surfaced from the ground.
Last time, the Winchester brothers were caught by the Wendigo and hung in a cave. Shane saved them using Earth Style: Underground Voyage. Although they were unconscious and didn't see it then, afterward, Shane killed the Wendigo and left right in front of Dean. Dean even slapped himself foolishly, thinking he was dreaming.
So seeing Shane drill out of the ground again, Dean wasn't shocked, just surprised at why he was here. Sam was different. He had no idea Shane possessed such logic-defying abilities... although the previous Shadow Paralysis Jutsu and Temple of Nirvana Technique didn't conform to logic either.
Dean didn't exchange pleasantries. He cut straight to the chase: "You said a demon caused the plane crash. You know about this?"
"I do. Otherwise, why would I be here?" Shane looked at the plane wreckage photos and various legend materials taped to the wall.
Sam chimed in, "Are you here to help us?"
Shane looked at Sam, nodded, then shook his head. "You are very special. If I want to see all kinds of supernatural powers, I don't need to look everywhere. I just need to follow you. That's why I want to be friends with you. If you're in trouble and I can help, I definitely will. consider it payment for satisfying my desire to see various supernatural creatures."
"I don't understand." Sam shook his head.
Shane walked to the table next to Sam, closed the documents on it and set them aside. He sat on the table, clapped his hands, and said briskly, "Don't understand why you're special? Don't worry. The night is long; we can chat while we eat."
"I'll go buy some."
Eager to know the truth, Sam turned to go out and buy food.
Shane waved his hand. "No need. Someone will bring it. We'll talk then."
"Why don't you tell us how you drilled out of the ground first?" Dean chimed in curiously.
"Last time was Underground Voyage. Just now I used Hiding Like a Mole Jutsu. Essentially, both are Earth Style ninjutsu utilizing Earth nature transformation."
Shane spoke simply and casually, but the Winchester brothers looked bewildered. "Earth nature transformation"... it sounded impressive. The brothers couldn't help but reveal expressions of "don't understand but feel it's powerful."
Before long, there was a knock on the door.
Sam opened the door in confusion. Olivia nodded slightly to him and entered with Anna, carrying bags of food.
The Winchester brothers were confused, not knowing the relationship between these two women and Shane. Olivia and Anna were also confused, not understanding Shane's relationship with these two men. Especially Olivia—while putting down the things, she specifically winked at Anna. Anna shook her head slightly.
Their interaction meant simply:
Olivia: Supernatural creatures?
Anna: Probably not.
Shane clapped his hands. "Let me introduce you. The Winchester brothers. Big brother Dean Winchester, little brother Sam Winchester. Hunters. Olivia, human assassin, newly recruited Ninja of Konoha, my driver. Anna, an old vampire who has lived for over a hundred years, my sparring partner."
"Actually, you didn't have to mention the age..." Anna muttered softly.
