Nova's POV
The land question took four days.
Seraphine sat with Nova and Thorne and Finn in the library and Sable, who turned out to have a precise memory for territorial history that had apparently been stored unused for sixteen years and was now deploying itself with considerable enthusiasm and they mapped it.
The old borders. The Moonstone Kingdom's original territory. The land Seraphine had governed before she passed her seat to Nova's ancestor three centuries ago and stepped back into the older role of keeper and guardian, the role she had maintained through three hundred years of watching and waiting and occasionally, apparently, drinking tea in palace kitchens.
The claim was real.
