Chapter 36 - The Secret Planning

Authors POV

The elevator doors hissed shut, sealing Keifer and Jay in a brief moment of high-speed silence. The predatory tension of the boardroom evaporated, replaced by the heavy, electric pull of the truth.

Keifer didn't wait for the lobby. He pinned Jay against the mirrored wall, his hands framing her face. "A global logistics empire, Jay? I thought you were stressed about your calculus midterms."

Jay let out a breathless laugh, her professional mask finally shattering into a brilliant, genuine smile. She reached up, straightening his silk tie with lingering fingers. "And I thought my 'Ice King' was just a moody heir with a penchant for expensive watches. 'I am the tide,' Keifer? Really? That was terrifyingly hot."

"I meant every word," he murmured, his forehead resting against hers. "I've spent months trying to figure out how to protect you from the world I live in, only to find out you already own half of it."

"Then we're done with secrets," Jay said, her voice dropping to a determined hum. "No more slipping out of windows. If we're going to burn the old guard down, we do it from the front door."

Keifer nodded and leaned toward Jay, kissing her gently.

The drive back to the Strongbuild was silent, but it wasn't the cold silence of strangers. It was the heavy, buzzing quiet of two predators who had finally seen each other's true stripes. Their hands remained entwined over the gear shift, a silent acknowledgement of the empire they had just merged.

By the time they stepped through the heavy reinforced doors of their private wing, the adrenaline had finally begun to fade, replaced by a bone-deep exhaustion. They didn't talk about the merger, the threats, or the billions of dollars now under their joint thumb. They simply shed their power suits like discarded armor. Keifer collapsed onto the massive king-sized bed, and Jay followed, her head finding the familiar crook of his neck. Within minutes, the "Ice King" and the "Ghost" were dead to the world, sleeping with the heavy, dreamless peace of winners.

While the masters of the house slept, the Strongbuild common area was far from quiet. The shadows flickered as Percy crept down the grand staircase, his footsteps silent. He had just peaked into the master suite, seeing the two titans tangled in silk sheets, looking deceptively human.

He reached the bottom floor where a sea of faces greeted him. The room was packed. Jane, Kyle, Aries, David, Yuri, Cin, Freya, Ella, Rakki, MICA, Blaster, Denzel, Eren, Josh, Felix, Eman, Edrix, Rory, Aion, Keiren, and Keigan were all huddled in a semi-circle, their faces illuminated by the glow of several tablets and floor lamps. Mia and Ben stood at the back, looking equally exhausted but alert.

"They're out cold," Percy whispered, giving a thumbs up.

"Finally," David exhaled, rubbing his temples. "Why did you all wake us up this late? It's three in the morning. I have a tactical drill at six."

Aries rolled his eyes, leaning against a marble pillar. "Dumbo, do you all actually remember what's next week, or has the 'Ice King' frozen your brain cells?"

Cin suddenly gasped, her eyes widening. "Wait... it's Keifer's birthday! The 18th"

The Section E boys froze. A wave of panicked realization washed over the room.

"Damn it!" Felix hissed, clutching his hair. "How can we forget our King's birthday? We haven't even cleared the shooting range for the celebration!"

"If it's the King's birthday," Eman added, looking around frantically, "then why isn't the Queen here helping us prep? Jay is usually the one who coordinates the logistics for Keifer's events."

Jane stepped forward, crossing her arms with a smirk that was far too knowing. "Idiots. It's not just Keifer's birthday. It's Jay's birthday too. They share the exact same day."

The room went deathly silent. Then, absolute chaos erupted in hushed tones.

"WHAT?!" the girls and Section E boys chorused in a loud whisper.

"It's Jay's birthday too?" Freya clutched her face. "I need a dress! I need a gift that doesn't scream 'I work for you'!"

"I need to prep the tech-tribute!" Blaster muttered, already pulling out his laptop. "Two birthdays? One party? The security requirements just quadrupled!"

"KEEP QUIET!" Kyle commanded, his voice a low whip crack. "Don't wake them up. If Keifer finds out we are planning a joint party behind his back, he'll have all of you doing laps around the city perimeter until your lungs give out."

The group huddled closer, the air thick with the scent of late-night coffee and frantic planning.

"Okay, listen up," Jane said, taking charge. She pulled up a digital blueprint of the Strongbuild Ballroom. "This isn't just a birthday party. We have five days."

Felix scratched his chin. "But how do we keep them from noticing? They're literally professional spies. Keifer can smell a secret from three miles away."

Jane looked toward the youngest of the group. "Aion, Keiren, Keigan. Step up."

The three boys looked up, blinking. "Us?" Keiren asked.

"You three are the only ones Keifer and Jay actually go soft on," Jane explained. "Your job is Operation Distraction. Aion, you're going to bug Keifer about 'advanced combat training' sessions. Keep him in the gym or the simulation room for hours. Keiren, Keigan—you two are Jay's shadows. Tell her you need help with school projects or 'charity' logistics. Keep her eyes on her tablet and away from the ballroom wing."

"We can do that," Aion grinned mischievously. "I'll make him think I'm actually trying to beat his record."

"Now, the rest of you," Kyle whispered, pointing at the boys. "David, Yuri, Felix, Josh. You're on Perimeter and Guest List. This is a joint party for the mansion crew. You ensure everything is locked down.".

"Cin, Freya, Ella, Rakki, MICA," Jane turned to the girls. "You're with me on Aesthetics. We need two themes, one color palette. Obsidian and Silver. It has to look like a kingdom."

"I'll handle the catering," Eman chimed in. "They both have similar taste,so we'll go with a high-end savory menu. Rare steaks and vintage wine."

Mia stepped forward, tapping her chin. "I'll handle the music and the mood. It needs to be sophisticated but lethal."

Ben nodded beside her. "I'll coordinate with the tech team to make sure the mansion's internal surveillance 'glitches' whenever we move party supplies into the ballroom. They won't see a thing on the monitors."

"And the gift," Denzel whispered. "What do you get the two people who literally have everything?"

The group looked at each other. There was a long pause before Percy smiled. "We don't give them things. We give them the one thing they don't have: A night where they don't have to be the Bosses. Just Keifer and Jay."

"No", Kyle and Aries said at same time. But everyone ignored them.

"Alright," Percy concluded, checking his watch. "Everyone has their assignments. If Keifer or Jay suspect even a hint of this before next week, we're all dead. Aion, start the distraction protocol tomorrow at 08:00 HRS. Everyone else, move the supplies through the service tunnels. Meeting adjourned."

As the group dispersed into the shadows of the mansion, the plan was set. Upstairs, the two heirs remained fast asleep, unaware that while they were busy ruling their worlds, their loyal family was busy building them a throne.

The countdown to the Birthday of the Titans had begun.
