Chapter 97 - Episode 97 – First Physical Contact & Psychological Confrontation

🚆 Love Train in Facebook Station

06:00 PM – African Facility Interior

Srikant crouched low, shadows wrapping around him like a protective shroud. He had bypassed the last camera and slipped through the narrow corridor, his eyes locked on the faint silhouette of Sasmita's confinement room.

Rudra's voice broke the silence over the earpiece:

"Thermal feed confirms minimal guard movement. Extraction window: ten minutes. Move carefully."

Every step Srikant took was deliberate, silent, and precise. The facility's dim lighting and scattered patrols demanded absolute control over his movements.

Step One – Sasmita's Subtle Coordination

Sasmita pressed the pendant against her palm, angling it toward a weak reflection. A glint danced faintly on the wall, a signal only Srikant could notice.

"He'll see this… follow carefully," she thought.

Her heart raced, adrenaline mixing with a calculated calm. Every subtle movement mattered. One misstep could alert the guards, but her knowledge of their rotation gave her a slight advantage.

Step Two – First Physical Confrontation

Two guards approached the room, unaware of Srikant's presence. He paused behind a corner, calculating. One guard's rhythm, the other's position, the timing—everything aligned perfectly.

In a swift, silent motion, Srikant disarmed the first guard, using his body weight and precise technique. The second guard barely had time to react before he was neutralized.

Rudra whispered: "Cleared. Proceed."

Srikant moved forward, his eyes fixed on Sasmita, her form faintly illuminated in the confinement room.

Step Three – Pallavi's Psychological Strike

Back at the safe house, Pallavi sensed Srikant nearing his goal. She leaned forward, voice cold and controlled:

"You trust instincts, but what if they betray you? What if what you see isn't real?"

Srikant's jaw tightened. He knew this was her trying to plant doubt, to destabilize him. But he remained calm, cataloging every subtle inflection, every hesitation.

"She's failing… I see through her," he thought.

Step Four – Signal Confirmation

Sasmita subtly shifted, angling the pendant again. The glint caught Srikant's peripheral vision, confirming her presence and signaling a clear path through the final corridor.

Rudra's voice: "Signal confirmed. That's her. Extraction imminent."

Srikant moved with precision, every motion synchronized with her subtle signals.

Step Five – Direct Eye Contact

Srikant reached the confinement room, the door slightly ajar. Through the narrow opening, he caught the first direct look from Sasmita.

Her eyes—alive, alert, unmistakable—locked onto his. Relief and determination surged simultaneously through him.

"She's here… she's real," he thought.

Step Six – Psychological Tension with Pallavi

Pallavi, realizing the cracks in her control, tried one last manipulation over a secure channel:

"Do you really know she's alive? Or are you chasing a shadow? How can you trust your instincts?"

Srikant ignored the voice, his focus unbroken. Every subtle attempt at doubt only reinforced his determination.

Step Seven – Extraction Begins

Srikant carefully opened the door, moving silently inside. Sasmita's chains were tight, but her subtle nod indicated she understood the extraction plan.

He reached her side, cutting the chains swiftly with a portable tool. She flexed her wrists, ready to move, guided entirely by the signals and coordination they had established.

Rudra's voice over the earpiece: "Move quickly—timing critical."

Step Eight – The Psychological Confrontation

As Srikant and Sasmita moved toward the exit, Pallavi's voice echoed in the secure line:

"Stop. You cannot save her completely. She may not be who you think she is. Trust nothing!"

Srikant's response was calm, precise:

"I trust her. Not you. She's real, and she's waiting for me."

The psychological tension was palpable. Pallavi's manipulations faltered in the face of Srikant's unwavering focus.

Step Nine – Near Escape

The corridor was tense. Two more guards patrolled ahead. Srikant calculated timing, moved in silence, and neutralized them without raising an alarm.

Sasmita followed closely, her subtle signals guiding his every step. Every slight shift, every reflection of light, acted as an invisible roadmap.

Rudra: "Checkpoint five reached. Extraction window: five minutes."
