Chapter 116 - Episode 116 – Hidden Leader Confrontation: Part 1

🚆 Love Train in Facebook Station

10:15 AM – Remote Desert Compound, Africa

The desert stretched endlessly under the harsh sun, heat waves distorting the horizon. In the middle of that isolation stood a heavily fortified compound—silent, guarded, and hiding the last remaining brain of Axis operations.

Inside the command vehicle stationed miles away, Srikant studied the compound through high-resolution drone feeds. His eyes were sharp, every movement calculated.

"That's our final target," he said quietly. "No mistakes now."

Beside him, Sasmita watched the same feed, her mind running through Phoenix files at lightning speed. Every corner of the compound, every possible trap, every blind spot—her memory mapped it all.

"He's prepared," she said softly. "Not like the others. This one… thinks ahead."

Rudra adjusted his headset, intercepting encrypted signals.

"Multiple security layers. Motion sensors, thermal traps, automated defense systems. And… internal jamming. Communication inside the compound will be limited."

Srikant nodded once.

"Then we don't rely on communication. We rely on precision."

Step One – Infiltration Plan

Sasmita zoomed into the compound layout.

"There are three entry points. Front gate is heavily guarded. Underground tunnel has motion traps. Rooftop entry is possible… but exposed."

Srikant thought for a moment, then said,

"We split approach. Drones create distraction at the front. Rudra disables sensors. We enter through the underground tunnel."

Rudra smirked slightly.

"High risk. But highest chance of surprise."

Sasmita looked at Srikant, eyes steady.

"I'll guide you through the tunnel. Every step… exactly calculated."

Srikant met her gaze.

"I trust you."

Step Two – Entry into the Compound

Minutes later, drones swarmed the front gate, triggering alarms and drawing out guards. Explosions echoed across the desert—not lethal, but enough to create chaos.

Meanwhile, Srikant and Sasmita slipped into the underground tunnel.

The air inside was suffocating, walls lined with old metal and wires. Every step echoed faintly.

"Stop," Sasmita whispered suddenly.

Srikant froze instantly.

"Pressure sensor… two inches ahead," she said. "Step left."

He followed exactly. The floor beneath where his foot would have landed clicked faintly—a trap avoided by seconds.

Rudra's voice came through briefly, distorted.

"Signal weak… but still active. Be careful. They're expecting something."

Step Three – Trap Sequence

As they moved deeper, the tunnel shifted. Panels opened suddenly, revealing automated turrets.

Srikant reacted instantly, taking cover and disabling them with precise shots.

Sasmita guided him:

"Left panel—weak point. Now right—disable control circuit."

Within seconds, the turrets fell silent.

But the traps didn't stop.

The floor trembled, releasing gas into the tunnel.

Sasmita covered her mouth.

"Not lethal… but disorienting. We need to move fast."

Srikant grabbed her hand instinctively.

"Stay close."

They pushed forward, navigating every obstacle with a mix of instinct and memory-driven precision.

Step Four – Psychological Pressure Begins

As they reached the inner corridor, speakers activated suddenly.

The hidden leader's voice echoed through the walls—calm, controlled, almost mocking:

"Impressive… you made it this far. But every step you take… I allowed it."

Sasmita's expression hardened.

"He's trying to get inside our heads."

Srikant didn't react outwardly.

"Let him talk. Words don't change outcomes."

The voice continued:

"Sasmita… do you really believe you are free? Every memory you use… was given to you. Every decision… influenced."

For a brief second, her eyes flickered. Doubt tried to creep in.

But then she steadied herself.

"No," she whispered. "My choices are mine."

Srikant glanced at her, voice low but firm.

"And that's why we win."

Step Five – Inner Conflict

As they moved closer to the central chamber, Sasmita's mind raced.

What if the leader was right?

What if every memory she trusted… was designed?

Her steps slowed slightly.

Srikant noticed immediately.

"Hey… stay with me."

She looked at him, conflicted.

"What if… I'm still part of their design?"

Srikant didn't hesitate.

"Then you broke it. Because no design can create this—your choices, your strength, your will."

For a moment, everything went silent.

Then Sasmita took a deep breath.

"I'm not their weapon."

Her voice was stronger now.

"I'm me."

Step Six – Final Corridor

They reached the last corridor before the central chamber.

The walls were lined with sensors, lasers crossing the path in complex patterns.

Sasmita analyzed instantly.

"Pattern-based system. Changes every five seconds. Follow my lead exactly."

Step by step, she guided Srikant through the lasers. One wrong move would trigger the entire system.

Their movements were perfectly synchronized—trust, instinct, and precision working as one.

At the end of the corridor stood a reinforced door.

Behind it… the hidden leader.
