Chapter 117 - Episode 117 – Hidden Leader Confrontation: Part 2

🚆 Love Train in Facebook Station

10:40 AM – Inner Chamber, Desert Compound

The heavy door slid open slowly, a low metallic sound echoing through the corridor.

Srikant stepped in first—alert, ready, every sense sharpened.

Sasmita followed closely behind, her heartbeat steady but intense.

Inside… the room was dim.

A single chair stood in the center.

And on it… a man sat calmly.

Head slightly lowered. Hands folded. Waiting.

For them.

Step One – The Reveal Begins

The man slowly lifted his head.

A faint smile curved on his lips.

"Took you long enough."

Srikant's eyes narrowed instantly. Something felt… off.

Not fear. Not panic.

Control. Absolute control.

Sasmita took a step forward.

"Who are you?"

The man stood up slowly, stepping into the light.

And in that moment—

Everything froze.

Srikant's breath stopped.

Sasmita's eyes widened in pure shock.

Because the face in front of them…

Was familiar.

Too familiar.

Step Two – SHOCKING TWIST

Srikant whispered, disbelief in his voice:

"…Rudra?"

The man smiled wider.

"Not exactly."

The resemblance was perfect—same face, same posture, same voice tone.

But something was different.

Colder. Sharper. Controlled.

Sasmita stepped back slightly.

"No… this isn't possible. Rudra is with us."

The man tilted his head.

"Is he?"

At that exact moment—

The comm device in Srikant's ear went silent.

No signal.

No Rudra.

Step Three – Psychological Breakdown

The man walked slowly toward them, every step confident.

"You relied on him. Trusted him. But trust… is the easiest thing to manipulate."

Srikant's jaw tightened.

"Who are you?"

The answer came calmly.

"I am the original architect behind Axis's hidden network."

Pause.

Then—

"And Rudra… was just one of my controlled assets."

Silence exploded in the room.

Sasmita's voice shook slightly:

"No… Rudra helped us. He saved us multiple times."

The man nodded.

"Yes. Because I allowed him to."

Step Four – Truth Unfolds

Screens around the room suddenly lit up.

Footage.

Logs.

Control commands.

Every move Rudra made…

Tracked.

Influenced.

Sometimes even pre-programmed.

Srikant's fists clenched.

"You're lying."

The man smiled.

"Am I?"

A clip played—Rudra hesitating before giving them key information.

Another—Rudra rerouting signals… slightly off.

Another—him watching Sasmita… analyzing.

Sasmita's breath became uneven.

"All this time… he was…"

The man finished calmly:

"A variable under observation."

Step Five – Sasmita's Inner Conflict

Sasmita stepped forward, anger rising.

"You manipulated everything! My memories… my identity… even our team!"

The man's eyes locked onto hers.

"No. I revealed what already existed."

He walked closer.

"You think you're free? Every instinct you trust… came from Project Phoenix. You are still part of the system."

Her mind trembled for a second.

Doubt tried to return.

Again.

Step Six – Srikant's Stand

Before that doubt could grow—

Srikant stepped in front of her.

Firm. Unshaken.

"No."

His voice was calm, but powerful.

"She made her own choices. Every time. That's something your system could never predict."

The man watched him carefully.

For the first time…

His expression shifted slightly.

Interest.

Step Seven – The Real Identity

The man finally stopped moving.

Then said slowly—

"You've been calling me a hidden leader…"

Pause.

"But the truth is…"

He looked directly at Sasmita.

"I was the one who designed your mind."

Silence.

Absolute silence.

Sasmita froze.

"…What?"

Step Eight – BIG REVEAL

"Project Phoenix wasn't just about creating operatives."

He stepped closer.

"It was about creating a perfect adaptive human… capable of evolving beyond control."

His eyes locked onto hers.

"You were my greatest creation."

Sasmita's heart pounded violently.

"No…"

He continued—

"And now… you've reached the final stage."

Step Nine – The Offer

The man extended his hand.

"Join me."

Srikant instantly stepped forward.

"Not happening."

The man ignored him.

His focus remained only on Sasmita.

"With me… you don't have to fight anymore. No confusion. No pain. Just purpose."

Sasmita's mind raced.

Her past.

Her memories.

Her pain.

Everything connected to this man.
