Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

Lyra's POV

Shaky moans escaped my lips as my body danced to the intense and ticklish sensation flowing through my body, which lasted for about five seconds, seeming like forever, like a dive into ecstasy. I remained still, gasping for air as tears pricked dearly at the corners of my eyes.

The wetness between my thighs started to slide down just like the warm tear drops. I felt my muscle dance as I clutched my thighs together, hoping to savor the feeling even longer, but it remained fleeting.

The feeling could only be described as a battle I had won, but the victory I felt was short. I opened my eyes and jerked back to reality; the dilemma had washed away, and it was now the most stupid thing I had ever done.

I was on the floor, back against the ground, in a room filled with girls who were now staring at me curiously. Shame coated me the moment I realized what had just happened.

Everyone had their eyes on me now, I had no idea what to do or how to get myself out of this situation.

"Did you have a nightmare?" Someone said among them, and I nodded, jerking from the floor, "She must have had a nightmare." Another said, speechless and stupefied, I nodded but was too ashamed to verbally confirm what they had just concluded.

Luck had it that I had removed my hands from my pants the moment my body fell to the floor. But I could feel the moistness between my thighs, and my body coiling to the shame of being clouded with the desires.

There was no denying that I felt like a sham, a damn hypocrite. A man I loathed a few minutes back was now the object of my desire.

How stupid.

Everyone still had their eyes on me when I walked out of the room it was still minutes before the appointed time to meet Alisha, but I have never needed air more than I did now.

Confused and utterly disgusted, I lowered my head and snuck out of the room, lucky not to have been questioned or followed by my peers. I walked out of the room and into the passageway, which was empty. But so many flowers were hung on the glass wall.

The fragrance did so little for my tainted mind. The horrors of what I just did still settled in my heart, and for the first time I wanted it to stick so it would remind me that the dragon was once again evil.

They had something in the air, they wanted me to go mad from all their kindness. They were monsters, I needed to fight this urge of likeness, I needed my sanity to last much longer than two days. Everyone here was either brainwashed or dead.

Finally outside, I saw more flowers, then a couple of males pushing a huge statue to the center of the town, their chatter was distant, and so were they. For what I wanted to do tonight, I needed to make sure I had minimal witnesses.

If anything happened and all went wrong, the last thing I needed was someone who would point out that I was out by the time anything happened. So I stood behind a tree, it towered over me, shadowing me from their view, but it did so little as one of them started approaching.

I needed to leave.

Beside me stood two more skinny trees, but they were noticeably standing apart.

"Damnation." More were approaching. I stood my ground unwavering; if I stood still, they wouldn't pay attention to me, so I thought until they crossed paths with me. Their vigilance betrayed my plan.

"Hey." One of them called out.

My heart plummeted, and I looked at them, feigning surprise.

"It's that lady from the store today." The voice was familiar; I squinted my eyes in sheer disappointment. The man at the kiosk, of course, like the universe, couldn't wait for one more second before throwing brimstone and fire at me.

Hugging my chest, I searched for decent words to respond with. But for Dragons I refused to be polite.

"Hello." He waved at me again, still smiling. Hoping that I waved back, but we were very much not friends. He tried to poison me today. Then made me look mad before everyone… Hell no.

Quickly getting the message that I won't be waving back, he dropped his hands and then proceeded to continue the conversation like he was incapable of not knowing when he wasn't welcomed. "This morning I thought about what you said about the root stew, so just so you know, I am working on a new recipe that's compatible for humans to eat, hopefully you will try it out." He had spoken so gently it left me in a mental haze.

"What do you say? Tomorrow, if you would be so kind, I would like you to taste some of my new ideas, I will be working on it throughout the night."

Stupefied.

"Umm, I."

"Please..." His hands clasped, and his pupils dilated. The rest of his subordinates had their hands clasped again and their lips widely parted. If I could see correctly, I was being begged to taste a modified version of stew, which, if I could remember vividly, I shoved in annoyance and insulted them for.

"You won't pay for it." If only he knew his tactics were wasted, he would stop, but I was worn down by embarrassment. I needed to be alone.

"Fine." I said, biting my tongue immediately; it was on impulse.

Aggravated by my change of mind and passiveness with these barbarians, I couldn't help but curse the air around me. They enchanted. I was provoked yet again. He shouldn't have come up to me with this stupid consideration. I insulted him; he was supposed to fight me, push me, and show me how much of a beast he was, but he broke into a heartfelt smile.

Pulling his friend's shoulder, he went on saying, "Thank you so, so much."

"Thank you, my lady." Another said bowing gently before they walked away like excited little boys.

Ridiculous.
