Death Aura Refinement Technique….
The moment those words struck him, Raiden felt a violent shudder through his body….
It felt like the name of the technique alone called out to him…
Even the technique he favored earlier the 9-star god grade, One Above All, merely intrigued him…
But this….
"Grandpa…" Raiden spoke up..
"Forget about it" his grandfather shut him down before he could even begin..
"But this, this feels like it was made for me" he countered…
"I'm not letting my grandson fall into a death trap" Aaron was adamant…
"You've seen my traits, I have a trait that literally makes it impossible for me to die, this technique has basically been sitting here all this while just waiting for me" Raiden pressed on, bringing up his ridiculous trait…
"I'm not going to gamble my grandson's life over a trait we're not yet sure works as it is written, there might be hidden conditions we have no idea of, I'm not taking that chance, little lightning, not with you" his grandfather wasn't willing….
He truly wasn't willing…
He's seen bright futures, talented young men and women, alight with ambitions and visions, brimming with confidence, ready to tackle on the impossible..
Only for them to shrivel up like raisins the moment they came into contact with that…thing…
His best friend, a man no less talented than he was, gave his life trying to cultivate that death trap, and the farthest he got, was learning the name of the technique…
So, no, he truly wasn't willing to risk his grandson's life, no matter how ridiculous his trait sounded…
"That's not the Agares way" Raiden spoke up, this time, his words weren't pleading or negotiating, they were stern yet filled with disappointment…
"Wha…what?" Aaron stumbled on his words,
"An agares must be unyielding, pledging fielty neither to the heavens nor the earth, the embodiment of TRUE PRIDE AND ARROGANCE, must be capable of looking death in the face, and laugh, if not for anything else, but to spite it…
For NOTHING in heaven and earth is worth the fear of the AGARES"…
Raiden enunciated each word, piece by piece, looking his grandfather dead in the eyes…
"I grew up listening to you, father and everyone else, instill in me the qualities of an agares, mother once said, nothing is privileged enough to earn the fear of the agares,"
"Yet, grandpa, you, of all people, YOU, are afraid? Scared? Of what?? Death??? We are AGARES, a mere technique isn't worthy enough for us to fear it" Raiden said, his voice rising..
"Don't you know why, even after so many deaths, time after time, more people take on the challenge of subduing this technique? Do you think they know not that the consequences of failure is death? Do you think that it was all just false bravado? DON'T INSULT THE INDOMITABLE SPIRIT OF MY PREDECESSORS!!!!!" The last bit he yelled with pure rage…..
"They knew the consequences, they knew death waited on the other end, yet with smiles and the unyielding arrogance of an agares, they took on that challenge, they looked death, they looked fear, they looked despair in the face and they laughed… THEY FUCKING LAUGHED GRANDPA!!!! And now you cower? For what? Because it is your grandson? Don't insult the spirit of our forefathers grandpa, do not let those who already ascended to look down on us with disdain and contempt, that will make you the greatest sinner our family would have ever known" he finished, breath ragged from the pure anger he felt…
Rage at the fact that the man he'd modeled himself out of, the man who laughed at any and everything, was cowering in the face of puny technique…
He felt disgusted and annoyed at the same time..
And like this same man had taught him, if you feel something, then speak, no one, absolutely no one can silence your voice..
So he spoke, he chastised, and he helped the old man remember just who they were, since it seems love had almost blinded the man..
Almost led him astray, made him forget just what blood runs through their veins…

Aaron was stunned, speechless…
In his grandson's 10 years of existence, he had never, not once seen his grandson lose his cool, much less explode in rage like this…
And as he listened to his grandson speak, of the grandeur of their name, of the creed they lived by, of the courageous spirit of their predecessors, of the unyielding nature of their bloodline…
Shame, unadulterated and hot, flushed through him…
To think I was this close to bringing shame to my ancestors…
With that thought, he looked at his grandson, really looked…
His eyes widened as he saw, he saw a magnificent figure, unbending, unyielding, arrogantly pointing a sword at the heavens as if daring them to make a sound…
The first…
He gasped….
Then a smile appeared on his face, unbidden, raw, wild, then he laughed,
"Hahahahahahahahahahaha" wild and free…
"Forgive me my boy, your old man has shown you something unsightly"… he bowed his head..
Aaron, the Tyrant, agares bowed his head…
In thanks, in pride, in appreciation…
For he knew, if it were any weaker man in his grandson's shoes, hearing the history behind that technique, they would've caved…
And should his grandson cave, then he would've ended up committing an unforgivable sin against his bloodline…
"Thank you my boy, you've saved this old man from facing his ancestors in shame, I owe you one" he smiled as he raised his head…
"So long as you understand old man" Raiden smiled, glad to have his grandfather back…
"Sooooo….." he rubbed his hands in anticipation..
"Heheh, cheeky brat" saying so, Aaron deactivated the formation around the book, wrapping his aura around it, he floated the technique towards Raiden, "here, it's yours…
Looking at the ominous technique in front of him, Raiden hesitated no more, stretching forth his hands, he wrapped them completely around the book and then…
Nothing…
Absolute darkness….
