the four basic sword skills are:
Cut (Striking): The act of using the edge of the sword to inflict damage. Basic cuts are typically categorized as vertical, horizontal, or diagonal.
Thrust (Stabbing): Using the point of the sword to pierce an opponent. This is generally faster and more direct than a cut, often used to exploit small openings
.Parry (Defense): Deflecting or blocking an incoming attack using your own blade. This is essential for protecting yourself while keeping your sword in position for a counter-attack.
Footwork (Movement): Positioning your body to attack or defend. This includes moving forward, backward, side-to-side, and stepping offline to avoid attacks while placing yourself in a better position.
These were what everyone believed, the fundamentals, what you started with as a swordsman or someone wielding a sword…
This was the norm…
But, the moment Raiden Agares first gripped a sword at the tender age of 5, he doubted it…
From the first swings his father taught him, till the moment swords started speaking to him, guiding him, he'd always doubted there was anything basic about the sword..
A weapon dubbed king among weapons, to have anything about it called basic?
Impossible….
It's not right, none of it is…
Who would dare declare a king's moves as basic?
He Had thought back then..
So he trained…
He disdained the act of defense, it was "cowardly" he said, a king does not retreat, he thought…
And so he trained, all four basic moves, he sharpened, improved, practiced until they became part of him, they became more, became a declaration..
His cuts, no longer just "cut", they severed,
His Thrusts, no longer just "pierced", they penetrated!!!
His parrying, no longer a move for defense, it became A Prelude…
His Movements, transcended mere footwork, they became Motion…
Thus his UNNAMED SWORD ARTS, were born, birthed from what the public considered "basic", refined to being something akin to LAW…
Which brings us back to the ridiculousness we just witnessed...

A domain should've only been countered by another one, that was the norm, physical attacks shouldn't have any basis for contest…
Mal'vor, in his dying moments, was disbelieving, less of the fact that a mere apprentice had slayed him, no, he was disbelieving of the fact that a physical sword strike had cleaved his domain, something that should've been on a conceptual level…
Sadly, the moment Raiden invoked,
{Unnamed Sword Arts}: First stance-Vertical slash…
It became not a physical move, but a law of severing imposed on the fabric of reality itself, and thus, Mal'vor's domain had no other option than to be cleaved apart, simple as that…

Stretching in satisfaction, his bones giving an audible popping sounds, Raiden stood, his figure still enhanced by the (active){Solar Empowerment} skill, his 7'5 frame casting long shadows on the devastated forest flooring…
Boooooommm!!!!!!
Booooommmmmm!!!!
A distant explosion drew his attention towards the other two mini mountains..
"Heh, seems those guys are having fun as well, might as well use this chance to break through before moving forward" he mumbled softly, sitting cross legged, he willed both {Life Drain} and {Death Origina Sutra} to their utmost, beginning to refine the abundant essence from a tier 4 demon…

Whilst Raiden began cultivating like he didn't just shatter an established norm with irritating ease, Leon, was having a different dilemma altogether…
His left arm hung limply by the side, golden hair disheveled, multiple wounds marred his lean yet muscular torso, his golden spear gripped firmly in his right hand as he regarded the thing before him with a grim look…
It was a demon, but unlike what they'd been encountering throughout their journey, this one didn't possess a goat's head, no, it was surprisingly humanoid, safe for the pitch black eyes, dark horns and bat like wings jutting from his back, one would mistake him for a human..
"Hmmm, for an apprentice human cub to dare intrude on these lands, you must either be extremely brave, or just very foolish" the demon taunted, watching the bleeding figure in amusement, it's right hand playing with the long sword it wielded…
"Damn… why's my luck so rotten" Leon muttered, wincing at the pain from his left arm…
He'd been advancing steadily, cutting down goat headed demons here and there with surprising ease, when out of nowhere, this thing, appeared, sword gunning for his temple, if he'd been a step late, his brains might have turned to mush by now…
Yet the demon was relentless, it pressed harder, attacking swiftly, it didn't take long for Leon to realize he was being toyed with..
The thought angered him, but alas, anger had no purchase strength in these lands….
"At least you should've met that narcissist instead, I'm sure he'd have loved to have a word with you" Leon spat bitterly, his eyes steady on the sword that had brought him to this miserable state…
He knew, if this demon had met that sword obsessed crazy boy, the conversation would've gone differently…
Hoooooo~~~~
No matter, I can't let that bastard look down on me, not now, not ever…
Calming his racing thoughts, he brought his focus back unto his opponent, the demon making no moves, just letting the young boy sort through his thoughts…
"Are you finally—-"
His words cut short as he felt the instant disappearance of the life signal from the central mountain..
"That's impossible" his expressions turned grim immediately…
Leon, noticing his expression, could already guess what had happened, after all, if there was anyone extremely familiar with that Monster's Prowess, it was him
And that was even before their awakening, before their broken traits manifested.…
Now, even he couldn't be sure what obscenities that monster was capable of…
"Hehehehe… judging from your expression it seems that monster finally let himself loose huh" he muttered, a grin very similar to one Raiden Agares we're all familiar with appearing on his face…
"Then I guess I can't hold back anymore, wouldn't want that narcissistic Bastard looking down on me" Leon's breath slowed, and then..
{Absolute Damage}….
He whispered softly..
His words a promise of the carnage to come..
The ignorant humanoid demon realizing too late that it's end is nigh…
************
A/N: that's the second for today…..
What's y'all's opinion on the story so far, too slow? Not engaging enough? Let me know your thoughts…
Ps: if it wasn't obvious enough, my boy Raiden, is not only broken with his traits, but his affinity and talent for the sword is absurd as well, so don't be surprised by the bs that bastard pulls out..
