7:20 a.m.
Ten minutes before the alarm.
Cael felt something wet and irritating on his face. His brows twitched as he slowly opened his eyes.
Right in front of him was Asa.
Like a kitten searching for food, the tip of her tongue brushed lightly across his face again.
That woke him up fast.
"Asa, why the hell are you drooling all over my face again..."
She raised a brow, completely unbothered.
"What, is my saliva not sweet?"
Cael let out a dry laugh.
"Yeah, sure. Asa's saliva is a premium drink. Real gourmet stuff. I just love tasting it."
"Hmph. I'm mad now. I'll make you enjoy it properly."
Before he could react, Asa climbed on top of him, pressing down without hesitation.
"Mmph..."
Ten minutes later, she finally pulled back.
Just a brief indulgence.
She wiped her lips, clearly satisfied.
For some reason, her mood was always better in the morning.
If not for the child, she might have pinned Cael down and gone all out without holding back.
The two lay close together, separated only by thin cotton pajamas.
"Cael, I had a dream last night," Asa murmured. "You turned into a toy, and it felt strange, so I had to check."
Cael paused.
She was getting sharper.
He smiled faintly and gently brushed her hair back.
"That wasn't a dream. I actually went out last night. Didn't expect that, huh?"
"Ah? Really?!"
Her eyes sharpened instantly.
"Weren't you mine last night? Just because I couldn't keep up with you, you went behind my back to mess around with Reze and Makima?"
"Hey, no, calm down," Cael replied quickly. "Nothing like that."
He had not messed around with them.
But thinking about what happened with Fami…
For a split second, he felt a bit uneasy.
Then he dismissed it.
That was different.
"I wasn't chasing women. I went to handle something serious. I hit Moscow, rescued Reze's parents."
And anyway, messing with a toy did not count.
Same logic as always.
"Blitzed Moscow?!"
Asa shot upright, shocked.
"Why didn't you take me? That sounds dangerous."
She raised her hand confidently.
"I'm strong now. I could have helped."
Cael just looked at her.
Help?
With her current control, that was not help, that was a disaster waiting to happen.
The Gun Devil power in her hands was like giving a child a machine gun.
One mistake and the entire Lubyanka building would be gone.
He leaned in and kissed her forehead gently.
"For something small like dealing with the KGB, how is that more important than my wife and kid getting proper sleep?"
Asa's face turned bright red.
Her hands started wandering again.
"Cael, you really know what to say... you must be holding back a lot. Let me help you out~"
Cael immediately grabbed her wrists.
"Alright, that's enough."
He pulled her out of bed and sat her in front of the mirror, calmly picking up a comb.
"Tonight," he said. "I'll deal with you tonight."
He began tying her hair into twin tails.
"I already brought your parents here. We're meeting them this morning."
"Okay~"
…
At the dining table.
Seven people sat together.
Cael and his three wives, Asa Mitaka, Reze, and Makima.
Fami, the freeloader.
And Reze's foster parents, Alexei and Sofia.
After cleaning up, the two elders looked far better than before.
Reze stared at them quietly.
She always said she did not care.
But that was a lie.
Even devils feel pain.
Cael briefly explained what happened last night, skipping over certain details involving Fami.
Sofia's eyes filled with tears.
"Reze... I'm so glad you're safe."
Reze closed her eyes and leaned gently against her.
"Yeah, Mama. I'm doing well here. I have a job, and... I found someone I love. I won't be an agent anymore."
Watching them, Asa felt a quiet ache.
She missed her own mother.
Cael noticed and held her hand tightly.
Makima sat straight, calm and composed.
"Mr. Alexei, Ms. Sofia, it's a pleasure to meet you. I've heard you were deeply involved in devil fusion research during your time in the KGB."
Alexei gave a stiff smile.
"That's all in the past."
He sighed.
"Sofia and I supported Felix. After he passed, things changed. The KGB lost its direction. We were pushed aside."
"It became something else entirely. Not much different from a political tool now."
Makima's eyes sharpened slightly.
"Felix... I'm quite interested in him. Would you mind telling me more?"
Alexei blinked, surprised.
A girl her age, asking about that?
He had no idea who he was really speaking to.
"Of course."
His voice regained some life.
"I heard he worked twelve hours a day," Makima said.
"Twelve?" Alexei frowned. "Who told you that nonsense?"
"My sources might be wrong."
"They are," Alexei said firmly. "He worked almost eighteen hours every day."
He raised three fingers.
"For him, life needed only three things. Bread, water, and work."
There was pride in his voice.
A distant memory of a different era.
Makima nodded slightly, taking note.
Their conversation continued briefly.
Aside from Felix, Alexei avoided going too deep into sensitive topics.
Old loyalties still held.
Even here, he would not expose everything.
Still…
Something felt off.
His gaze shifted toward Cael.
Why was this guy so close to multiple women?
A bad thought crept into his mind.
No… could his daughter have ended up in something shady?
Cael, meanwhile, had zero interest in politics.
He stayed close to his wives, occasionally teasing them.
Once the conversation ended, he reached under the table and pulled out a bottle.
"Father-in-law, vodka. Want some?"
Alexei waved him off.
"I quit drinking."
Sofia finally spoke up, unable to hold it in anymore.
"Son-in-law… you said Reze is your wife. Then what about the others?"
Cael shrugged casually.
"No conflict."
He took each of their hands in turn.
"This one, the black-haired beauty, Asa Mitaka."
"The one you were talking politics with, Makima."
"And Reze, the girl you raised."
He looked completely serious.
"They're all my wives. I'm marrying all of them."
"Yes," Asa, Reze, and Makima replied together.
