The moment his voice echoed through out the basement and registered itself in their minds, both Lenette and Luther froze still. Neither made a move to say anything, or do anything, let alone breathe.
"I am curious." Caesar started, "About a lot of things." He walked into the room in his usual unhurried steps, "One being what you were talking about." he came to stop right behind Lenette, "Care to enlighten me, Luther?"
Luther said nothing which made the already thick suffocating air more tense.
"I suppose you are refusing to talk. That is fine." He spoke calmly as he had when he beat the man up back at the club, and for the first time Lenette could tell the difference between Caesar's moods. She could tell that the calm he had now was the one that settled in before a raging storm and that made her pale.
