Lenette let herself remember that day, finally making sense of those memories no matter what lay ahead for her after this, she knew she could not run from the truth anymore. The instant she closed her eyes, she found herself in that red dress again, next to her father on the couch, the two of them in tranquil quiet.
"I need to get out of this dress and make up, as much as I love it. I am tired and need comfortable clothes." Lenette broke the silence as she got up from the couch. "Do not stay up to long daddy, get some sleep too." She placed a kiss on his cheek and made her way up stairs to her room.
