Stephanie's POV
I rushed out from the restaurant, passing through the crowds. I tried to call his phone as I tried halting a taxi to take me back home. Since I was meeting Anna, I refused to have the driver take me here. It was a private meeting, and bringing a driver to a place like this seemed too much.
If the earlier me knew how hard it is to halt a taxi in the city plaza, she would have taken the driver. The taxis rarely stopped for people, no idea how they are thriving. I tried to call Cliff, but the call went to voicemail. In the end, I just tried calling Mary. It took two rings for Mary to pick up.
"Hello?"
"Mary, do you know where Cliff is?" My voice must have given away the urgency, as Mary immediately replied that Cliff was in the office.
