Chapter 31 Bullying in the Pokémon World

After saying goodbye to Xiao Ming, Ash and the others resumed their journey and soon arrived at a forest shrouded in mist.

The dense mist made Brock, who was holding a map, sweat profusely; he already lacked a sense of direction, and now his ability to identify landmarks was further diminished.

"Brock, are you sure you didn't lead us the wrong way? I feel like we've been going in circles since we started," Misty said, clinging to Ash, her nerves taut.

"I think, perhaps, we might have gotten lost in the forest," Brock admitted, no longer pretending. His intelligent gaze was useless against a map without any visible reference points.

"Ash, quickly use your Psychic to think of a way," Misty remembered Ash's Aura.

"Misty, while I also want to get out of this forest as soon as possible, if we're lost, we're lost. I can't do anything about it either," Ash said, feeling helpless.

Aura detection is like an enemy detection radar, not a compass that can point the way; he was powerless in this situation.

Upon hearing this, Misty became even more flustered. She clutched Ash's shoulders tightly, "Ah! What do we do? I don't want to be trapped and die in this forest!"

"Misty, don't panic yet. This mist wasn't created by a human or a Pokemon, so it will definitely dissipate. Once the mist clears, we'll be able to leave this forest."

The Pokemon Ash could think of that create mist, in the Kanto region, might only be the unlucky Suicune, but he quickly thought that it was unlikely. He had the Rainbow Feather and was recognized as the Rainbow Hero by the photographer, but since Marshadow hadn't arrived, how could Suicune show up first?

As for human involvement, he did remember there was a noble academy nearby. When the Fairy type was announced two years ago, he was even invited to teach there for two days.

Most of the talents produced by this academy were theoretical, but Ash had to admit that the school also had research-oriented talents. If this mist wasn't naturally formed, it was highly likely they were conducting some experiment.

Thinking of this school, Ash remembered a certain Goh from Vermilion City. When he came to teach, he unintentionally glimpsed that Goh was taking supplementary classes at this school, striving to re-qualify as a Pokemon Trainer.

....

Less than three kilometers from Ash and the others' location.

Four or five teenagers were gathered around a treadmill, on which one teenager was running with great effort.

Among the onlookers, the red-haired teenager in the middle held a small notebook and sternly asked the teenager on the treadmill, "At what level does Pidgey evolve, and what is its evolved form called?"

"This…that…."

The teenager on the treadmill was panting, his breathing ragged, clearly lacking enough energy to answer the question.

"Don't dilly-dally. If you don't answer soon, you'll be in for it."

"Exactly, because of you, our entire class is falling behind. How can you still have the nerve to stay?"

"Boss, teach him a lesson. He'll transfer classes and leave if he can't take it."

"How can we do that? If this kid leaves, we'll lose our fun."

The other teenagers spoke up one after another.

Where there are people, there are conflicts. Campus bullying happens in schools all over the world.

"Oh, I didn't expect your school's tradition to still be preserved?"

Just then, a voice interrupted them.

"Who is it? Who dares to interfere with our good time?" The red-haired teenager turned his head unhappily to look at Ash.

Ash was a bit surprised, "You don't even recognize me? Are you from the junior class?"

"What's wrong with the junior class? Who the hell are you? You dare to meddle in our Pokemon school's affairs? Are you tired of your Trainer qualification burning a hole in your hands?!" The red-haired teenager saw Ash and his companions dressed for travel, and a hint of disdain appeared in his eyes.

"Judging by your tone, does your family have someone working in the Pokémon League?" Ash looked at the teenager with interest.

To say such arrogant words, he must have some backing, but it was unknown how capable this person was.

"Of course, I come from the Dragon Family."

"Dragon Family?!"

Misty and Brock were shocked.

Lance, one of the Elite Four Dragon-type Masters in the Kanto region, came from the Dragon Family. Both of them were from Gyms and understood the backgrounds of the Elite Four.

"Scared now, aren't you?!"

The teenager's face was filled with pride.

"Save it. At most, you're a collateral relative of the Dragon Family. You haven't even awakened the Aura, no wonder you can only run wild in a small place like this."

Ash understood these noble families. Aside from the main branch and those who awakened the Aura, the rest of the collateral relatives of the Dragon Family were dispensable. The League might give the Dragon Family some face on minor issues, but they wouldn't pay them any mind on major ones.

The same was true for the Oak family behind Professor Oak.

However, the Oak family's strength was a bit stronger than the Dragon Family's, so to avoid trouble for himself, Ash directly pushed his Pokedex into the teenager's face.

Upon hearing the mention of Professor Oak, the red-haired teenager instantly wilted.

"You're young and have a bright future, yet you're wasting your life, and even engaging in campus bullying…" Ash gave them a good scolding.

However, he had to admit, this school was truly deep, with everyone having a background from a major family.

It was just that this kid had poor judgment, only knowing how to pick on honest people, when there was clearly a big "star" in this school.

"Oh, isn't this the brilliant Dr. Ash? You're here, why don't you come into the school? Are you afraid of me?"

Suddenly, a resentful voice came from behind Ash and the others.

Everyone turned their heads at the sound, only to see a young woman with long, wine-red hair, wearing a blue short skirt, standing with her arms crossed, looking directly at Ash and the others.

Brock was also moved after seeing the young woman's face clearly.

"Miss….."

Before Brock could get closer, Misty quickly grabbed Brock's ear.

"Giselle, it's only been two years, have your delusions become this severe?" Ash responded indifferently.

Are you kidding? A teacher afraid of students? He had never heard such a low-level joke.

"Damn it, Ash, you bastard, you're the one with delusions!"

The young woman's original resentful expression instantly vanished.
